The coatings were obtained by high velocity oxy fuel method and their modification - new hybrid-spraying process. In this paper, the influence of manufacturing technology on structure and properties of coatings is presented. Examination of mechanical properties (microhardness) and selected results of tribological investigations of new material coatings are presented. The abrasion and erosion wear of materials were tested in ambient and elevated temperature. The article presents the results of structural studies of coatings too. Using a thickness gauge the rated uniformity of the applied coating, the thickness were determined. Microstructure, porosity, density of obtained coating was assessed using LM microscope. The obtained results confirm good erosion and abrasion properties of the tested coatings. Presented results indicate that the tested coatings may be used as a basic protection to wear condition in the energy industry.

The article presents the issues related to composite materials and the fabrication process of protective coatings by thermal spraying methods used for the protection of power plant boiler elements . The basic composite materials for thermal spraying process were characterized. The presented materials allow produced the erosion-corrosion resistant coatings. The chemical composition, phase structure and properties of the selected materials are presented. The basic group of coatings with the high corrosion and erosion resistance are produced by thermal spraying method, like HVOF (High velocity oxy fuel). In this article the selected properties of composite materials sprayed by innovative technology are characterized.

The material conception of manufacture new coatings with high dispersion phases are presented. The coatings were obtained by thermally sprayed technology. The results of the hot temperature oxidation test of the new elaborated coatings were analyzed and compared. The reaction rate constant was calculated. The mass chance as a function of spallation process were recorded The microstructure of coatings was obtained by LM microscopy. After corrosion tests, the presented coatings were investigated in respect of the changes on the surface like: pits, cracks as well as oxidation layers. The results have been stored using digital imaging techniques, Nikon and PC. The presented coatings can be used to basic protection to wear and corrosion condition in the energy boiler.
