NMR STUDY OF THE ZINC AND CADMIUM COMPLEXES OF THE CYCLOPENTADIENEDITHIOCARBOXYLATE LIGAND

Abstract NMR studies of the coordinated and uncoordinated cyclopentadienedithiocarboxylate anion show a reduction in the aromaticity of the five membered ring upon coordination. Estimates for the bond orders of the 1,2 and 2,3 bonds (see Fig. 1) are made based upon coupling constants derived from a computer fit and generation of the NMR data. A discussion of the technique and interpretation is presented.
