Lessons from Japan: applying what it has learned

an interest in health and aging issues. The Global Link for Midlife and Older Women, jointly sponsored by the International Federation on Ageing (IFA) and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), is an international network of individuals and groups concerned with issues affecting midiife and older women around the world. IFA and AARP will jointly publish the proceedings of Coping with Social Change: Programs That Work in both English and Spanish. Both language versions will be available by spring 1990. The IFA/AARP Global Link for Midlife and Older Women, in cooperation with the UN Center for Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs, is continuing the search for model programs around the world addressing the needs of older women. Information on model programs is being compiled in a handbook containing both case studies and practical policy guidelines.
