Rough Natural Hazards Monitoring

Marek Sikora; Beata Sikora

An example of rough sets application in a forecasting module of natural hazards monitoring systems in hard-coal mines is presented in this paper. Rough sets are applied for reduction a number of variables used during the hazard assessment, checking the variables significance and defining decision rules. Obtained decision rules are the ground for developing a system forecasting hazardous states. Tasks of hazards monitoring systems and an architecture of the forecasting module that is the component of the monitoring system are presented in the paper. Examples of two practical applications illustrate the described module. The first one concerns microseismic hazards forecasting, the second is connected with gaseous hazards forecasting.

Diagnostic Model for Longwall Conveyor Engines

Marcin Michalak; Beata Sikora; Jurand Sobczyk

The paper presents a new approach of wall conveyor engines diagnosis. A wall conveyor is an essential device in coal mines. Its work is usually represented by three time series of current values of three conveyor engines. The startup of the conveyor is the phase with the maximal observed load during its work cycle. In the research, each startup is described with almost twenty variables. On the basis of 1000 real monitored startups, a set of association rules was inducted. On the basis of the further rules analysis and interpretation, a set of almost 50 rules was selected to the diagnosis system. The proposed diagnosis system compares the quality (precision) of each association rule from a selected subset—the precision evaluated on the representative data—with the precision of the same rule, evaluated on newly detected startups.

Controllability Criteria for Time-Delay Fractional Systems with a Retarded State

Beata Sikora

Abstract The paper is concerned with time-delay linear fractional systems with multiple delays in the state. A formula for the solution of the discussed systems is presented and derived using the Laplace transform. Definitions of relative controllability with and without constraints for linear fractional systems with delays in the state are formulated. Relative controllability, both with and without constraints imposed on control values, is discussed. Various types of necessary and sufficient conditions for relative controllability and relative U-controllability are established and proved. Numerical examples illustrate the obtained theoretical results.

Constrained controllability of fractional linear systems with delays in control

Beata Sikora; Jerzy Klamka

Abstract The paper presents finite-dimensional dynamical control systems described by linear fractional-order state equations with multiple delays in control. The constrained controls are considered. The set of admissible control values is assumed to be a compact set containing 0, a convex and compact set containing 0 in its interior, a cone with vertex at zero and a nonempty interior, or a convex and close cone with nonempty interior and vertex at zero. The definitions of various types of constrained controllability of the linear fractional systems with delays in control are formulated. New necessary and sufficient conditions for constrained relative controllability of fractional-order control systems with delayed controls are established and proved. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the obtained theoretical results.

New Controllability Criteria for Fractional Systems with Varying Delays

Jerzy Klamka; Beata Sikora

Finite-dimensional dynamical control systems described by linear fractional-order state equations with multiple delays in control varying in time are presented in the paper. Both the unconstrained and constrained controls are considered. The constraints are put on the control values. The set of admissible control values is assumed to be a convex and compact set containing 0 in its interior and a cone with vertex at zero and a nonempty interior. New necessary and sufficient conditions for unconstrained as well as for constrained relative controllability of fractional-order systems with delayed varying controls are established and proved. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the obtained theoretical results.

Approximation of a coal mass by an ultrasonic sensor using regression rules

Marek Sikora; Marcin Michalak; Beata Sikora

A method of approximation the mass of coal moving on a conveyor belt under the ultrasonic sensor that measures a height of coal pile is described in the paper. A process of defining a set of variables that affects the approximated coal mass is presented. A model of multiple regression and an algorithm of regression rules induction based on the M5 algorithm have been exploited to relate momentary values of the coal pile with the mass of moving coal.

Controllability of time-delay fractional systems with and without constraints

Beata Sikora

. The constrained relative controllability of the presented semilinear system and corresponding linear one are discussed. New criteria of constrained relative controllability for the fractional semilinear systems with delays under assumptions put on the control values are established and proved. The conical type constraints are considered. The results are illustrated by an example.
