Non-parenchymal neuro-Behçet disease generally affects cerebral venous sinuses, whereas intracranial intracerebral arterial involvement has been rarely reported. But co-involvement of both intracranial intracerebral artery and venous vascular systems in a patient at the same time has not been mentioned before. To the best of our knowledge, this case involving a 25-year-old male with a 7-year history of Behçet disease is the first reported of this type of involvement. He developed occlusion of the basilar artery together with thrombosis of the left sigmoid sinus, distal internal jugular vein, and straight sinus. He was successfully treated with a combination of high-dose steroid and cyclophosphamide. Cranial magnetic resonance angiography demonstrated the resolution of these abnormalities.

Introduction The aim of this study is to investigate the association between childhood traumatic events and headache-related clinical parameters in migraine patients. Methods 95 patients diagnosed with migraine and 50 healthy controls were included in the study. A socio-demographic form, the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were completed by all participants. Additionally, the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the Migraine Disability Assessment Test (MIDAS) were applied to migraine patients. Results Positive correlations were found between emotional abuse, physical abuse, physical neglect, CTQ total scores, and headache frequency (r=0.33, r=0.24, r=0.26 and r=0.28 respectively) in migraine patients. A positive correlation was found between physical neglect and headache duration (r=0.28). Positive correlations were also found between emotional abuse and physical neglect, and MIDAS total scores (r=0.22 and r=0.23, respectively). Emotional abuse and CTQ total scores were associated with younger mean age of headache onset (r=-0.24 and r=-0.23). Conclusion Childhood traumatic events are associated with more frequent and more severe headache episodes, and younger headache onset in migraine patients.

Lewy body demans Alzheimer hastaligindan sonra ikinci siklikta gorulen norodejeneratif demanstir. Kardinal bulgulari bilissel bozukluk, gorsel halusinasyonlar ve motor bulgular (parkinsonizm) dir. Ayni zamanda REM (rapid eye movement) uyku davranis bozuklugu ve ciddi noroleptik duyarliligi ve disotonominin varligi taniyi destekleyici bulgulardir. Lewy body demans tanili olgularda post operatif bilissel bozuklukta artis ve post operatif deliryum normal yasli po pulasyonu ile Alzheimer hastaligi ve diger demans olgularina gore daha sik gorulmektedir. Bu yazida biri 65 yasinda kalca kirigi nedeniyle cerrahi operasyon sonrasi hipoaktif deliryum ve sonrasinda bilissel fonksiyonlarda bozulmada artis gozlenen, digeri 60 yasinda sonrasi hiperaktif deliryum ve bilissel bozulmada artis gozlenen iki adet erkek olasi Lewy body demans olgusu sunduk. Lewy body demans olgularinda cerrahi sonrasi komplikasyonlarin erken tanisi ve tedavisinin ciddi morbidite ve mortaliteyi onlemede oldukca etkin oldugu akilda tutulmalidir. Ayrica klinisyenler Lewy body demans olgularinda preoperatif ve intraoperatif donemde komplikasyon gelisimini azaltmak icin olasi riskleri saptamali ve en aza indirgemeye calismalidirlar.

Background and purpose This study aimed to assess the correlation between vitamin D deficiency and electrophysiological findings and pain level in patients with symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Methods A total of 131 patients with symptoms of CTS, 70 with vitamin D deficiency and 61 without vitamin D deficiency, were included in the study. Using demographic data and findings from electrophysiological examinations, the patients were divided into two groups based on their vitamin D level (Group 1: <20 ng/ml; Group 2: ≥20 ng/ml). The Boston Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Questionnaire was used to assess their CTS- related pain level. Results Although the rate of CTS in the patients with a low vitamin D level was found to be high, no statistically significant correlation was observed between low vitamin D level and the frequency and severity of CTS. Additionally, the pain and functional loss ratio induced by CTS was found to be higher in the group with a lower vitamin D level than in the group with normal levels. Conclusion Low vitamin D levels may increase the severity of CTS symptoms. Treatment of vitamin D deficiency in patients with CTS can play a role in reducing pain and disability.
