Abstract During the last eight months, two of the neutron scattering instruments TAS3 and TAS6 at the DR3 reactor at Riser National Laboratory have been out of routine operation for mechanical upgrading. The air cushion floor was, at the same time, enlarged and lowered to make room for larger sample environments.

Swiss-Danish meet for neutron scattering workshop

Abstract From November 16–17, 2001, a Fjoint Swiss-Danish Workshop on Neutron Scattering took place at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland. The workshop celebrated the agreement of cooperation between Rise, National Laboratory in Denmark and the Paul Scherrer Institute and was aimed towards intensifying the scientific cooperation of the Danish and the Swiss neutron scattering user communities. The workshop addressed two topics “Strongly Correlated Electron Systems” and “Soft Condensed Matter”-topics that presently have the largest overlap between the two user communities.

ENSA Committee holds tenth meeting

Abstract The committee of the European Neutron Scattering Association (ENSA) met for its tenth meeting in San Sebastian, Spain from January 25–26, 1999. The meeting was in part held jointly with the second meeting of the EU Round Table and served as an appropriate anniversary of ENSA, which was formed at a meeting i n Madrid on December 12, 1994.

ENSA reports on the 9th meeting of the ENSA committee

Abstract The committee of the European Neutron Scattering Association (ENSA) met for its ninth meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden from May 4–5, 1998. As one of the first items on the agenda, the joint Neutron Scattering Society of the Czech Republic and Slovakia was welcomed as the newest full member of ENSA. which now comprises fifteen user organizations.
