South Viet-Nam at the Crossroads

Bernard B. Fall

There is little doubt but that much of what follows is likely to have been overtaken by events by the time it appears in print. Yet it is more necessary than ever to recapitulate the events which, over the past few years, have led to the present chaos which threatens to engulf not only South Viet-Nam, but the whole Indochinese peninsula or even all of Southeast Asia. Exactly ten years after Frances collapse in the Far East, Western positions in the area are again threatened with imminent collapse and this time there is no more American fall-back line, for America is directly committed in the forefront of Southeast Asias defence against communism.
