Business intelligence today covers the elements of information technology, accounting management, business analysis and marketing. It enables collection, analysis, distribution and acting based on the business information and for the purpose of easier solving of management problems and making of best business decisions. So, business intelligence system originally intended for the decision makers even though in todaypsilas modern conditions of new economies decisions are made by majority of the managers in the company. SQL server 2008 and Visual Studio 2005 together offer deeper integration between the data base in the application development then ever before. Programmers now have the possibility to create a CLR stored procedure, function and user defined types directly from Visual Studio development environment. Other then that, Visual Studio 2005 supports all new SQL Server data types. Business Intelligence with Office Share Point Server 2007 system facilitate to people who make decisions to access information and analyze them at any time, anywhere. Managers in the trading company can use updated information wherever people are working, cooperate and make decisions regardless whether this is on desktop or via Web.

Balanced scorecard is one of most used methodologies for performance measurement in enterprises and non-profit organizations. It presents a general framework that has been applied more precisely by many scientists and practitioners. It has been adapted to particular performance measurement systems. These monitoring systems are based on collecting data and analysis of these data. This paper presents overview of implementing balanced scorecard in IT project management. Framework for software project success monitoring, based on PRINCE2 methodology and balanced scorecard is proposed. Key performance indicators as measures to be performed upon data collected during software project implementation are defined. This way, analytics to be performed upon data according to specified key performance indicators, needed for decision support is enabled.

This paper presents the development of Web based modular information system for the needs of distance learning. The capabilities of this system and development phases are described. This information system is developed by use of following techniques: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, AJAX, MySQL and XML. For object oriented modeling UML is used. With development of technology and techniques for data collection, modern business organizations are able to store large amounts of new information about customers and employees within it. In order to respond to the needs identified in the field of data warehousing and data analysis within human enterprise resource planning (ERP), business organizations increasingly opt for new ways to store the data. One of them is use of non-relational databases (NoSQL). This paper presents an information system (IS), developed for the needs of human resource management (HRM). For data warehousing IS use benefits of NoSQL MongoDB and was developed to be accessible via the Internet At this point, the authors aim to point out the potential solution in data warehousing and ERP system development. This solution can be used as the initial point for the systems further evolving, which tend to support futures that Industry 4.0 offers.

Detection of synonyms in data modeling is considered as a significant problem, especially within the semantic evaluation of a conceptual data model. This paper presents an approach for synonyms detection in a system for conceptual data model semantic evaluation. It is based on automated reasoning in ontology mapping with conceptual data model with tool that formalizes ontology and conceptual data model and merges them with a set of reasoning rules. Reasoning was done with Prolog system. These rules are created for ontology–toconceptual data model mapping, as well for synonyms extraction. Examples of testing reasoning rules are also shown in the paper.

One of the most important phases in information system development is data modeling. In higher education and in professional environment, the basic data models are ER model, relational model and object oriented model, i.e. class diagram. Since conceptual modeling is crucial data modeling activity, special concern on methods for conceptual modeling is given in this paper. Case study shows that application of separate conceptual data modeling methods produce different and incomplete models. This leads to the conclusion that it is important to use integration of these methods and apply them within the information system development process. Educational experiences of applying this approach at University of Novi Sad, Technical faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” in Zrenjanin are presented as description of class exercises and exams results.

Data modeling is one of the most important activities in the process of information systems development which is based on domain knowledge in specific area. This paper presents a system for analyzing data model correctness from both syntax and semantic aspect. The system is based on using ontology for domain knowledge representation, transformation of data models and ontology to predicate logic form and their integration with data model quality rules. All components of the system are integrated by using XML form of their results. They create an input for an automated reasoning system, that provide answers regarding data model correctness.

The paper presents ATP - a system for automated theorem proving based on ordered linear resolution with marked literals, its putting into the base of prolog-like language and some applications. This resolution system is especially put into the base of prolog-like language, as the surrogate for the concept of negation as definite failure. This logical complete deductive base is used for building a descriptive logical programming language LOGPRO, which enables eliminating the defects of PROLOG-system (the expansion concerning Horn clauses, escaping negation treatment as definite failure), but keeping the main properties of PROLOG-language and possibilities of its expansions. Some features of the system when it is used as the base for time-table and scheduling, a technique for the implicational problem resolving for generalized data dependencies and intelligent tutoring system are described.
