Heck arylation of allylic alcohols in molten salts

Abstract The Heck coupling of ArX (X=I, Br) with allylic alcohols, carried out at 80–120xa0°C in molten n-Bu4NBr using NaHCO3 as base and PdCl2 as catalyst without extra ligands, leads to the corresponding β-arylated carbonyl compounds. After extraction of the organic materials with diethyl ether, the ionic layer can be reused directly.

Telomerization of butadiene with pentoses in water: selective etherifications

Conditions have been developed to achieve the palladium catalysed telomerization of butadiene with L-arabinose and D-xylose in aqueous medium. The success of the reaction requires the presence of a tertiary amine as promoter with a catalytic system based on Pd–TPPTS. The etherification first occurs on the anomeric hydroxyl and, depending on the amine used, a second etherification leads to formation of the diether.

Recycling in telomerization of butadiene with methanol and phenol: Pd–KF/Al2O3 as an active heterogeneous catalyst system

A palladium-TPPTS catalyst heterogenized on KF/alumina has been shown to be effective and recyclable for the telomerization of butadiene with methanol and phenol. The initial catalytic system is modified during the first run, allowing its stabilisation and improving its activity.

15-Membered macrocyclic triolefin: role in recovering active palladium catalyst for the telomerization of butadiene with methanol

Abstract The 15-membered macrocyclic triolefin Ma stabilizes a Pd(0) catalyst, active and recyclable in telomerization of butadiene with methanol. This Pd catalyst is generated from different Pd(0) or Pd(II) sources associated with phosphanes.
