Thionitrosyl ligand; X-ray molecular structure of dicarbonyl(η5-cyclopentadienyl)thionitrosylchromium

An X-ray crystallographic analysis of (η5–C5H5)Cr(CO)2(NS) shows that the thionitrosyl group co-ordinates essentially linearly to the chromium atom via the nitrogen atom.

Abstract The reactions of M 2 Cl 4 (PR 3 ) 4 derivatives (M  Mo, W and PR 3  PEt 3 , PBu 3 n ) with CO at atmospheric pressure in toluene at 70°C to afford M(CO) 3 (PR 3 ) 2 Cl 2 and trans -M(CO) 4 (PR 3 ) 2 are reported.
