Approximate boundary relations on general anisotropic sheets of arbitrary shape as well as the special case when they are backed by a perfect electrical conductor are investigated based on a generalization of the procedure introduced by _ in 1993 for uniaxially anisotropic planar sheets to general anisotropic and arbitrarily shaped surfaces. The ranges of validity of the approximations in the methodology are also tested numerically for the impedance boundary condition obtained in the case of a PEC backed uniaxially anisotropic sheet.

Space-curve types of distributions and electromagnetic sources are introduced in a Schwartz-Sobolev space setting, in a tutorial style. The features of the investigation are the derivation and employment of i) three line vector operators acting on a regular singular function; ii) distributional derivatives of first-order space-curve types of singularities; and iii) the distributional investigation of the electromagnetic fields behavior in the presence of first- and second-order (“free” and “polarized”) arbitrary and impulse-radiating space-curve types of sources.

The Green functions of R.W.P. King which are derived under high contrast approximation and valid for arbitrary range are tested in formulating electromagnetic scattering problems for metallic thin wire structures located over a planar lossy dielectric half-space. For a verification of the developed MATLAB™ codes which employ a Method of Moments formulation with pulse basis functions, the current distributions obtained under plane wave illumination on the arms of a cross shaped thin wire structure are compared to the same results obtained by the commercial software SNEC™. The developed codes have the ability to read data from NEC-2 type input files, while the analytical aspects of the formulation provides various capabilities to include terrain features and oceanographic parameters into any scattering scenario.

In virtue of the axiomatic structure of a recently introduced Material Invariant Electromagnetic Field Theory, we introduce the general formulation of a scattering problem for arbitrarily moving material media and provide the solution for the canonical case of TM plane wave scattering by a dielectric half-space in uniform rectilinear motion.

Impedance boundary condition is investigated on a PEC backed uniaxially anisotropic sheet of arbitrary shape based on the distributional tools on an arbitrary regular surface. The investigation provides a generalization of the distributional procedure introduced by İdemen in 1993 for the case when the material sheet is of arbitrary shape and backed by a perfect electrical conductor. The availability of an impedance boundary condition is scrutinized for 8 different types of materials of practical interest.
