Synthesis of some bis(triphenylphosphine)(ethynylferrocenyl) platinum(II) complexes; molecular structure of [PtH(CC-C5H4FeC5H5)(PPh3)2]

Abstract Substituted acetylidoplatinum(II) complexes trans -[PtX(CC-C 5 H 4 FeC 5 H 5 )(PPh 3 ) 2 ] (X  H, Cl, CCPh or CC-C 5 H 4 FeC 5 H 5 ) have been prepared. Controlled basicity of the reaction solutions yields the different complexes. A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study of trans -[PtH(CC-C 5 H 4 FeC 5 H 5 )(PPh 3 ) 2 ] indicates an alternating alignment of the ethynyl ligands between two centrosymmetric platinum atoms, resulting in the formation of a pseudo- polymeric structure.

Synthesis and crystal structure of tricyclopentadienyl(cyclooctane-1,5-diyl)-uranium dihydroborate

Abstract Cp3UCl reacts with NA(HBBN) (BBB = 9-borabicyclo(3.3.3.)nonane) in THF solution to give CP3U(HBBN), which is the first complex having a (BBNH− ligand attached to a d or f transition metal. The IR spectrum and the X-ray crystal structure show that the boron hydride ligand is coordinated to the uranium through two hydrogen bridges. The geometry around the uranium atom is pseudo-tetrahedral if the η5-cyclopentadienyl ligand centroids and the boron atom are regarded as vertices.
