Surveys reveal that the higher the organization project management maturity level is, the greater it enhances project performance. However it is vital to first understand the requirements of such a maturity model in the context of the target industry or sector. In this study, we aim to assess the current status of project management maturity model (PMMM) adoption in Malaysias ICT industry as an initiative to conceptualize a model for use in the sector. An online survey was carried out to investigate the level of PMMM awareness, its extent of adoption or practices and its prerequisite requirements for use in the ICT industry. Based on our findings, a preliminary framework of the PMMM is proposed in our next phase of study.

This papers aims to determine the requirements placed on a project management methodology (PMM) designed to assist undergraduate engineering students to manage their research projects. The study makes extensive use of the available literature and draw upon preliminary data from surveys and structured interviews with undergraduate engineers as well as interviews with academic supervisors and module conveners for engineering research project courses. This working paper presents the research methodology and the results to date on the development of the methodology that aims to stimulate external feedback on the existing results and the methodology under development.

After graduation engineers rapidly take on responsibility for the management of projects. This paper describes the development of a new project management (PM) course and associated roll-playing game. The course actively encourages students to practise their new technical and human skill sets in a competitive and realistic project environment. The paper presents an outline of the course structure and highlights some of the issues encountered during delivery of the course to undergraduate engineering students in the United Kingdom and Malaysia.
