The Dilemma of Arab Nationalism

As nationalism gathered force in the Arab World during the last several decades, its only discernible aims had been to achieve political freedom and unification for Arab peoples who objected to existing political divisions separating them. In more recent years certain Arab leaders such as President Nasser of the United Arab Republic have begun to associate economic and social progress with the ends of Arab nationalism.
