The grafting technique favors cultivation tomato under conditions environment adverse, being the effects on the physiology of scarce plants. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the growth and solar energy conversion efficiency in grafted tomato and not grafted in greenhouse. The grafting was performed by grafting of cleft and the treatments consisted of tomato plants grafted on hybrid Kaguemusha® and not grafted. The samples for growth analysis were performed at intervals of fourteen days after transplanting (DAT) by the end of the crop cycle. At each harvest, plants were separated into organs, being determined to total dry matter (Wt), rates of dry matter production (Ct) and relative growth (Rw), net assimilation (Ea), leaf area index (L), growth rate, leaf area (Ca), relative growth of leaf area (Ra), leaf area ratio (Fa), leaf weight (Fw), specific leaf area (Sa), conversion efficiency solar energy (?) and assimilation rate of fruit (Efr). From the analysis of data growth, the plants grafted on the hybrid Kaguemusha® had higher Wt, Ct, Rw, Ea and ? compared to non-grafted that showed a high Fa and Fw. Therefore, the stress caused by grafting did not affect the growth at the end of the development cycle of tomato plants, being important feature to keep the crop yield.

The study aimed to comparatively evaluate the partition of assimilates between biometrics and two cultivars of pepper over the crop cycle. Plants were collected from the fourteenth day after transplanting (DAT) at regular intervals of fourteen days after the transplant by the end of the crop cycle. Evaluations were made of dry leaves (W f ), stem (W C ), root (W R ), fruit (W FR ) and the rate of dry matter production of leaves (C f ), stem (C C ), root (C r ), fruit (C FR ), number of leaves and plant height. The cultivar Vulcao presented a higher allocation of dry matter in leaf, stem and root, but the Doce gave a higher dry matter accumulation in fruit which is the part of commercial interest.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the productivity, classification and postharvest quality of fruits of tomato plants (cv. Gaucho) and the grafting of these plants with hybrid tomato plants (cv. Kaguemusha) by the terminal stake method. Plants were grown in a greenhouse in the municipality of Pelotas, state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) using a complete randomized block design with 20 replications. Grafted tomato plants produced fruits with higher average weight (g) and total phenols when compared to non-grafted plants. This study aimed to characterize the associated farmers to Cooperativa Sul Ecologica de Agricultores Familiares Ltda., and to understand the organization of the cooperative institution. For this, we conducted semi-structured interviews with the family farmers ecological base and development agents along Cooperative, together the use of secondary sources. Since the Cooperative presents their work ethics and press for horizontal beginning, it allows collective decision making. In addition, your audience - family farmers ecological base - has an active history of sustainable and cooperative work. Therefore, we can measure both the public research on the family farm as the institution Cooperativa Sul Ecologica actual actions and what Costabeber & Caporal established as ecologically based agriculture.

The karyotype of Anthurium gaudichaudianum Kunth, a species belonging to the Araceae family, is described for the first time. The species is native to Brazil, occurring from the state of Rio Grande do Sul to the state of Sao Paulo, and the specimens examined were collected from Brazilian Atlantic Forest, in the woods of the municipalities of Torres and Peruibe, located in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, respectively. Anthurium gaudichaudianum has 2n = 2x = 30 and its karyotype is formed by three pairs of metacentric chromosomes, nine pairs of submetacentric chromosomes and three pairs of acrocentric chromosomes, one of them with satellites (6 m + 18 sm + 6 a). The size of the chromosomes vary from nearly 6.0 to 2.8 μm. The complement of 30 chromosomes for A. gaudichaudianum found in our study is in accordance with the findings of 2n number for most of species in this large genus.
