This paper contributes to the literature on the determinants of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) adoption from manufacturing industries at the firm level in Argentina. On behalf of this objective, we estimate a model about the determinants of ICT adoption. The results indicate that the factors that positively influence on ICT adoption are belonging to an economic group, the level of global innovation and the internal level of learning

The present work aims to be a contribution to the research methodology for adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) in enterprises. It is intended to explain the levels of maturity achieved in the implementation of ICT in companies under study. Specifically, it explores to what extent factors such as industry, organizational size, training of human resources, availability of technology and technological awareness, affect the level of technological appropriation. The study was based on a survey implemented in 2011 to 46 companies and service trade Rosario and surrounding areas. They keep the 3 maturity levels (basic, intermediate and advanced) defined in previous work, incorporating each new variables related to training IT human resources and technological level of consciousness, in order to deepen about causalities in the levels of maturation detected. The main findings reveal the impact of computer training and technological awareness in the learning process to more mature stages.

This paper analyzes the causal factors of the level of electronic commerce adoption (ECA) among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Contingent Theory is used as the basis for building a structural equation model. The model assigns a mediating role to the ‘ICT strategy and management control’ variable. The study is based on a survey of 139 MSMEs from Cordoba, Argentina. Results show that the mediating variable positively affects ECA, and therefore, the organizational performance. Besides this, the e-readiness of a firm directly and indirectly influences ECA.
