The large N ’t Hooft limit of coset minimal models

Changhyun Ahn

Recently, Gaberdiel and Gopakumar proposed that the two-dimensional WAN−1 minimal model conformal field theory in the large N ’t Hooft limit is dual to the higher spin theories on the three-dimensional AdS space with two complex scalars. In this paper, we examine this proposal for the

minimal models initiated by Fateev and Lukyanov in 1988. By analyzing the renormalization group flows on these models, we find that the gravity duals in AdS space are higher spin theories coupled to two equally massive real scalar fields. We also describe the large N ’t Hooft limit for the minimal model of the second parafermion theory.

We present the configurations of intersecting branes in type IIA string theory corresponding to the meta-stable supersymmetry breaking vacua (Amariti, Girardello and Mariotti 2006 J. A bstractWe find the GKO coset construction of the dimension 4 Casimir operator that contains the quartic WZW currents contracted with completely symmetric SU(N) invariant tensors of ranks 4, 3, and 2. The requirements, that the operator product expansion with the diagonal current is regular and it should be primary under the coset Virasoro generator of dimension 2, fix all the coefficients in spin-4 current, up to two unknown coefficients. The operator product expansion of coset primary spin-3 field with itself fixes them completely. We compute the three-point functions with scalars for all values of the ’t Hooft coupling in the large N limit. At fixed ’t Hooft coupling, these three-point functions are dual to that found by Chang and Yin recently in the undeformed AdS3 bulk theory (higher spin gravity with matter).

The large N 't Hooft limit of Kazama-Suzuki model

Changhyun Ahn

By examining the previously known holographic N = 2 supersymmetric renormalization group flow solution in four dimensions, we describe the mass-deformed Bagger-Lambert theory, that has SU(3)I × U(1)R symmetry, by the addition of mass term for one of the four adjoint chiral superfields as its dual theory. A further detailed correspondence between fields of AdS4 supergravity and composite operators of the infrared field theory is obtained.

Marginal deformations with U(1)3 global symmetry

Changhyun Ahn; Justin F. Vazquez-Poritz

Abstract By studying various, known extreme of 1) SU(3) sectors, 2) SO(5) sectors and 3) SO(3)×SO(3) sectors of gauged N =8 supergravity in four dimensions, one finds that the deformation of seven sphere S 7 gives rise to non-trivial renormalization group (RG) flow in three-dimensional boundary conformal field theory from UV fixed point to IR fixed point. For SU(3) sectors, this leads to four-parameter subspace of the supergravity scalar-gravity action and we identify one of the eigenvalues of A 1 tensor of the theory with a superpotential of scalar potential that governs RG flows on this subspace. We analyze some of the structure of the superpotential and discuss first-order BPS domain-wall solutions, using some algebraic relations between superpotential and derivatives of it with respect to fields, that determine a (super)symmetric kink solution in four-dimensional N =8 supergravity, which generalizes all the previous considerations. The BPS domain-wall solutions are equivalent to vanishing of variation of spin 1/2,3/2 fields in the supersymmetry preserving bosonic background of gauged N =8 supergravity. For SO(5) sectors, there exist only nontrivial nonsupersymmetric critical points that are unstable and included in SU(3) sectors. For SO(3)×SO(3) sectors, we construct the scalar potential (never been written) explicitly and study explicit construction of first-order domain-wall solutions.

More CFTs and RG flows from deforming M2/M5-brane horizon☆

Changhyun Ahn; Soo-Jong Rey

As we re-examine the known holographic = 1 supersymmetric renormalization group flow in four dimensions, we describe the mass-deformed Bagger-Lambert theory or equivalently the mass-deformed U(2) × U(2) Chern-Simons gauge theory with level k = 1 or 2, that has G2 symmetry, by adding a mass term for one of the eight adjoint superfields. We obtain a detailed correspondence between the fields of AdS4 supergravity and composite operators of the infrared field theory in three dimensions. The geometric superpotential from an eleven dimensional viewpoint is obtained for M2-brane probe analysis.
