Study on Integrated Hydraulic Propulsion Vessel

Ji Yulong; Sun Yuqing; Chen Haiquan; Zhang Yindong; Chen Lei; Zhang Hongpeng

A ship propulsion method, integrated hydraulic propulsion (IHP), was put forward and its characteristic was discussed. After that, dynamic mathematic model of IHP vessel was developed. Based on the model, dynamic response character of the system and the influences of four parameters (oil bulk modulus, rotary inertia, seawater density and oil temperature) upon the system were discussed. The simulation results show that IHP method is feasible. Oil bulk modulus and rotary inertia will influence the system dynamic behavior significantly. Seawater density and oil temperature will not only influence the dynamic behavior but also the steady state, so these parameters should be taken into account when an IHP system is to be designed. IHP method offers a new idea for ship design.

Research on the influence of velocity on particle counting sensitivity of microfluidic oil detection chip

Wang Qiang; Hongpeng Zhang; Liu Enchen; Yuqing Sun; Chen Haiquan

The influence of velocity of oil debris on the sensitivity in metal debris counting with microfluidic oil detection chip is reported in this paper. A microfluidic oil detection chip of a three-dimension solenoid with a micro channel crossing its center was presented in this paper. When measuring the inductance value of microfluidic oil detection chip caused by the oil debris, it can be found that the oil debris velocity affects the inductive pulse signal. Through experiments, the results show that the amplitude of inductance change is influenced by velocity of oil debris if the size and material of oil debris are known. With the increase of velocity of oil debris, the amplitude of inductive signal decreases. This result is important and has reference value for sizing oil debris and other particles by microfluidic oil detection chip.

Study on Control Strategy of Integrated Hydraulic Propulsion Ship

Ji Yulong; Sun Yuqing; Chen Haiquan; Chen Lei; Zhang Yindong; Zhang Hongpeng

A control strategy, constant power and variable power combination control (CVCC), was put forward for integrated hydraulic propulsion (IHP) ship against its characteristics. Theoretical analysis was conducted through working condition matching characteristic charts to evaluate the effect of this control strategy. Modeling and simulation of IHP ship was researched, and the theoretical analysis results were proved by the simulation results. These results show that CVCC is suitable for IHP ship, the diesel engine can always works under design working condition independent to the ship working conditions, put out rated power and run at rated rotation speed. This solve the problem that diesel engine on Direct Propulsion ship can not put out rated power when the ship works under off-design working conditions. CVCC is more applicable on those ships with various working conditions, such as: mud drag vessel, tugboat and fire ship.

Research on the influence of different microchannel position on the sensitivity of inductive sensor

Liu Enchen; Hongpeng Zhang; Wang Qiang; Fu Hongfa; Chen Haiquan; Yuqing Sun

Accurate detection of metallic wear debris is vital to avoid catastrophic failure of machine. An inductive metallic debris sensor in accordance with the theory of electromagnetism is presented to discuss the relationship between the sensitivity of inductive sensor and the position of microchannel inside the planar coil. Iron particles with 110-120μm in diameter are used in the experiment and the result demonstrate that the different position of microchannel does have influence on the sensitivity of planar coil. The sensitivity can be significantly improved when changing the position of microchannel, 130% increase in inductance amplitude could be got when the microchannel is near the edge of coil in contrast to near the center.
