The design of flexibly assembly control systems based on Ethernet is introduced in the paper. First, the whole scheme of the flexible assembly system is presented, then, the designs of the telegram structure and contents and processing functions are expatiated, the general mechanism is focused on for the communication handshake between the super-ordinate system and PLC system by the Ethernet. The design of the whole system is universal, reliable and flexible.

The data flow of the rotary worktable with multi work stations is analysis based on the structure of the rotary worktable firstly. And then, the communication protocol based on Siemens PLC among different stations is defined. The realized processes of the general function process about the rotary worktable is described in detail. The application practice indicates that the communication protocol had been not only simplified and unified the communication processes among different stations but also reduced the development cycle and saved the cost of the rotary worktable equipment. This communication protocol among different stations also can be used in other platform.
