It will also require that we in the human rights community be willing to leave the familiar realm of declaiming abstract principles to engage with policy makers and health and development professionals in discussions of prioritysetting and the inevitable trade-offs that are necessary in practice. I have no doubt that, in the next ten to fifteen years, we will increasingly see volumes that assess not just the normative evolution of the right, but also evidence of the impact of rights-based approaches to health in specific contexts.
