This article reports the results of a study of customer knowledge management (CKM) of Taiwanese service businesses in China. Over 600 questionnaires were sent out to the Taiwanese directors and staff in 150 Taiwanese service businesses in Kun-Shan City, China, with 322 valid responses included in the study. Four relationships were examined in the study: the correlation between CKM and organizational performance, between CKM and the learning organization, between organizational performance and the learning organization, and finally the effect of the learning organization on the relationship between CKM and organizational performance. Findings and conclusions are discussed.

Abstract Manufacturers in Taiwan are proceeding internationalization or engaging in overseas direct investment. In the process of internationalization, the capabilities of manufacturers are promoted or the industry upgrade is enhanced; the results of overseas direct investment also provide Taiwanese manufacturers with a channel for resources and learning or outsourcing low value-added or labor-intensive downstream operations, but remaining high value-added upstream operations or R and D in Taiwan for international resource distribution. I t is also considered that the core capabilities of manufacturers are the key in surviving the competitive environments. When proceeding internationalization or FDI activities, the relations and effects on the core capabilities and the derived issues are worth in-depth discussions. By literature analyses and questionnaire survey, this study tends to explore the effects of Overseas Investment on Core Competence, where Overseas Investment contains the dimensions of Ownership Advantages, Internalization Advantages, and Location Advantages, and Core Competence covers Pulse Survey Capability, Integration-Related Capability, and Function-Related Capability. Total 250 copies of questionnaires were distributed to high-level supervisors in electronics enterprises in Taiwan and 192 valid ones were retrieved, with the retrieval rate 77%. The research findings show the significant correlations between Overseas Investment and Core Competence, where Corporate Culture shows remarkably correlations with Overseas Investment and Core Competence. Finally, several suggestions are proposed aiming at Overseas Investment.

Based on literature review and experimental results, the study employed questionnaire survey to investigate the relationship between service quality, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. The present study used factor analysis and regression analysis, and obtains the following results: (1) Perspectives of service quality in the management consulting industry includes: empathy, reliability, competence, responsiveness, and tangibles. (2) A significantly positive effect of perspectives of service quality on customer satisfaction is verified through regression analysis. (3) A significantly positive effect of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty is verified as well.

This study reports the results of a study of Management Innovation of Taiwanese businesses in China. Over 800 questionnaires were sent out to the Taiwanese owners/managers in Kun-Shan City, China, with 260 valid responses included in the study. Four relationships were examined in the study: the correlation between management innovation and corporation core competence, between management innovation and the corporate culture, between corporation core competence and the corporate culture and finally the effect of the corporate culture on the relationship between management innovation and corporation core competence. Findings and conclusions are discussed.

Abstract This study seeks in a controlled setting to examine the efficacy of TQM program implemented on rank and file employees, using the method of Case Study at Shanghai Fu-Shing Inc. located in Shanghai City of China, and a Longitudinal Comparative Research Design. Through the sample composition, instrumentation, procedures, data analysis, Null Hypothesis were tested. Results show that there is a significant difference in the degree of Employee participation between After and Before TQM Implementation. The significant difference indicates that After TQM Implementation has considered the conditions necessary for job performance. In reference to the Human Performance System model, Shangahi Fu-Shing Inc. through its TQC program has addressed the aspects of input (information, resources), performer (training, guidance), output (conformance to quality standards), consequences (bonuses, recognitions), and feedback. In fact, Total Quality Management covers every aspect on the way of life and operation that is conducted in an organization. This is particularly true for employee involvement and job performance that is directly affected by Total Quality Management: Employee Involvement because of established participative activities and job performance because of the conditions created necessary for good performance.

The enhancement of economic development and living standard in last years has the people stress more on recreational life that tourism becomes prevalent in Taiwan. County and city governments positively promote tourism and hold cultural festivals to enhance the boom of accommodation and catering industries and further fi re national tourism market and catering industry. Through online questionnaire survey, the customers of Wang Steak, TASTy, Tokiya, and ikki, which are the subsidiaries of Wowprime and burst out the oil scandal recently, are distributed 800 copies of questionnaires. Total 388 effective copies are retrieved with the effective rate 49%. The research results are concluded as follows. 1. Crisis Communication Strategies would affect Media Report. 2. Crisis Communication Strategies would influence Corporate Image. 3. Media Report has significantly positive effects on Managerial Capacity in Corporate Image. 4. Media Report presents remarkably positive effects on Corporate Reputation in Corporate Image. 5. Media Report shows notably positive effects on Communication News in Corporate Image. It is expected that catering businesses could enhance the countermeasures of Crisis Communication Strategies to cope with crises.

Abstract Modern changes of low birthrate have induced the dilemma and competition in the educational environment. To keep up with the knowledge and technology explosion, teachers, with the responsibilities of teaching the fundamental relationship between oneself and the society, telling the knowledge and skills for careers, and helping answer questions in the learning process, cannot fall behind the trend of knowledge and technology. The continuous professional development to enhance the role function would not be reduced with time that the establishment of teacher communities would assist in the professional development and actually benefit the members in professional communities, the served objects, and the public. Total 200 copies of questionnaires are distributed to the instructors in ten public and private universities in southern Taiwan. Total 124 valid copies are retrieved, with the retrieval rate 62%.The research analyses show 1.significantly positive correlations between Interaction in Teacher Professional Community and Innovative Approach in Innovational Instruction, 2.remarkably positive correlations between Interaction in Teacher Professional Community and Innovative Teaching Materials in Innovational Instruction, 3.partially positive correlations between Interaction in Teacher Professional Community and Innovative Environment in Innovational Instruction, and, 4.notably partial effects of Teachers’ Background on the correlations between Interaction in Teacher Professional Community and Innovational Instruction.

Abstract Banking departments have been the focus of domestic financial system and played the critical role in the economic development process. Nevertheless, since the financial liberalization policy in the end of 1980, banks have encountered great challenges. Inspecting the brief situations of domestic banks in the past decade, the profits have been reduced and the operating efficiency is gradually decreasing. The risks of loans are increasing that it becomes a primary issue for the general deposit account and shareholders of banks knowing the operating problems of banks earlier and selecting the accurate and stable investment to ensure the personal profits.Based on the operation investigation of native banks in Taiwan in 2010-2012, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist Productivity Analysis are combined to measure Total Efficiency (TE), Pure Technical Efficiency (PTE), and Scale Efficiency (SE) of 16 native banks in Taiwan for the reference of further improvement of operating efficiency. The empirical results show Bank of Taiwan and Taishin Bank being relatively efficient, as the operating efficiency achieves the ideal state, while the rest 14 native banks appear comparatively lower operating efficiency. Besides, it is found that merely Bank of Taiwan and Taishin Bank present improvement on the technical change in two periods, while the rest do not improve.

Abstract Medical staff is forced to leave the work as they bear distinct stress and burnout from workload. When the amount of work is not reduced but increased from resigning employees, such a ferocious circle would eventually reduce medical quality. Taking the medical staff in Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital as the research sample, total 500 copies of questionnaires were randomly distributed. Having deducted invalid and incomplete ones, 327 copies are valid, with the effective retrieval rate 65%. The research results show 1.significantly positive effects of Workload on Burnout, 2.remarkably positive effects of Burnout on Turnover Intention, 3.notably positive effects of Workload on Turnover Intention, and 4.mediating effects of Burnout on the correlations between Workload and Turnover Intention. Based on the conclusions, some suggestions are proposed in this study, expecting to assist in the problems of high turnover rate of medical staff and the reducing medical quality caused by workload.

Abstract It requires great amount of costs for cultivating a talent with international experiences. A lot of evidences show the failure of multinational corporations in human capital investment because of the expatriates leaving the companies after the end of the overseas tasks. Many expatriates leave the companies within a year, the next year, or within two years of repatriation. In this case, the loss of repatriates is the loss of multinational corporations. An international task being really successful in the repatriation process lies in the organization being able to retain the repatriates. The expatriates of Sinphar Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. are researched in this study. Total 400 copies of questionnaires were distributed. Having deducted invalid and incomplete ones, 227 valid copies were retrieved, with the retrieval rate 57%. The research results present 1. partially positive correlations between Repatriation Measure and Performance of Service in Expatriate Satisfaction, 2. significantly positive correlations between Repatriation Measure and Performance of Aspiration in Expatriate Satisfaction, and 3. the moderating effects of Personal Attribute of Expatriate on the correlations between Repatriation Measure and Expatriate Satisfaction. Suggestions for the expatriation management in medicine industry are offered in the empirical results.
