Decrease of mRNA levels and biosynthesis of sucrase-isomaltase but not dipeptidylpeptidase IV in forskolin or monensin-treated Caco-2 cells.

Treatment for 48 h of differentiated, confluent Caco-2 cells with 2.5 10−5 M forskolin or 10−6 M monensin, which produces a significant decrease of the de novo biosynthesis of sucrase-isomaltase, does not change quantitatively the de novo biosynthesis of dipeptidylpeptidase IV. Western blot analysis and silver nitrate staining indicate that neither drug induces any modification in the steady state expression of these two brush border hydrolases. Northern blot analysis shows that the level of dipeptidylpeptidase IV mRNA does not change in treated as compared to control Caco-2 cells. In contrast, forskolin and monensin dramatically decrease the level of sucrase-isomaltase mRNA. These observations suggest a separate regulation of biosynthesis for sucrase-isomaltase and dipeptidylpeptidase IV in intestinal cells. The mechanisms responsible for such a difference are discussed. Among them, the role of glucose metabolism, which is perturbed by both drugs, appears to be of crucial importance.

Combined dating methods applied to building archaeology: The contribution of thermoluminescence to the case of the bell tower of St Martin’s church, Angers (France)

St Martin’s church, Angers, is emblematic of the problems raised in pre-12th century history of architecture.In view of the importance of this building, it was necessary to attempt to define its dating and this study particularly focuses on its bell-tower. In addition to the conclusion resulting from the interpretation of written sources and typological criteria positioning the construction of the site at the beginning of the 11th century, not only a significant number of 14C dates were carried out on charcoals from the masonry structures, but also independent dating by archaeomagnetism and thermoluminescence were performed on bricks from the bell-tower. The whole results from these three different methods agree and indicate the lower level of the bell-tower was likely built in the 9th century, disputing evidence to the theory of construction in the 11th century of the church.Presented here are the detailed results obtained from the thermoluminescence (TL) dating analysis.

IVX), stored in the Wikibridge database, a special application of on-line mapping was realized using OpenLayers, MapServer with TileCache and GeoJSON web service for the link with CARE Wikibridge.

The ANR project CARE-IV-X saec. (2008-2011) is the French contribution to the international program, introduced in 2002 by the IRCLAMA - a corpus aiming to list the religious buildings of Europe between the 4thand the very beginning of the 11thcent. AD. These churches have been studied in France since the 19thcent.; the Corpus has to give an up-to-date vision using current methodologies. France elaborated the IT database, semantic Web Wikibridge, with on-line seizure and interrogations, which will be used by all the European countries after translations. Since 2010, the Wiki system allows French regional teams or individuals to prepare forms for IT seizure and texts intended for a paper publication. Saint-Vivant de Vergy (Côte-d’Or)

Une premiere campagne topographique avait permis en 2004 de faire une proposition de recalage du plan ancien (xviiie siecle) de cette abbaye avec le plan des vestiges subsistant.
