Catalytic cross-coupling reactions mediated by palladium/nucleophilic carbene systems

Abstract In this mini-review, we present a summary of our recent work in the field of palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions, with emphasis on the use of nucleophilic N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) as ancillary ligand. The palladium-mediated coupling reactions investigated include the Suzuki–Miyaura, Kumada–Tamao–Corriu, Heck, Sonogashira, Stille, Hiyama and aryl amination reactions.

Preparation and catalytic hydrogenation properties of some rhodium and ruthenium complexes with chiral tridentate phosphine ligands (S,S)-PhP(CH2CHMeCH2PPh2)2 and (S)-Ph2PCH2CH(PPh2)CH2CH2PPh2)

Abstract Treatment of RhCl(ttp*) (ttp*=( S , S )-PhP(CH 2 CHMeCH 2 PPh 2 ) 2 ) with NaBH 4 produced Rh(BH 4 )(ttp*). The reaction of RuCl 2 (ttp*) with NaBH 4 produced RuH(BH 4 )(ttp*). The complexes RhCl(ttp*), RuCl 2 (ttp*), Rh(BH 4 )(ttp*), and RuH(BH 4 )(ttp*) were found to be catalytically active for the hydrogenation of α-acetamidocinnamic acid.
