This work aims to present new activities for teaching trigonometry in Elementary Education. The idea is to show how to teach the main trigonometric relations through exercises that guide students, gradually, to conclusions of these trigonometry relations. The suggested activities make use of “GeoGebra ”software, a feature that enables the construction of trigonometric circles that facilitate the understanding by students. This paper presents not only the sine relations, cosine and tangent for acute angles, as it is usually proposed by textbooks 9 th year of elementary school, but also relationships with secant, cosecant and cotangent, and it

This project aims to present a different way of approaching the concepts of quadratic functions, proposing exercises of motivation and content fixation, with contextualized issues facing the student day-to-day. It is intended to assist teachers and making, this way, learning from their students more pleasurable, demystifying mathematics, providing opportunities for students to use mathematical concepts in their daily lives. Using technological tools already available in most schools of Basic Education, will be presenting activities using at least one free software to inspire teachers in preparing their lessons and consequently help students in building their knowledge.

This paper aims to show and justify a relation between the number of new students and egress of Applied Mathematics course. Analyzing qualitative data, we intend to discuss learning problems related to the subjects of the course’s first semester, such as the lack of mastery of the mathematics studied during elementary and high school. In this case, students are not prepared and do not approve the graduation subjects, as they have significant gaps in their academic fundamental training which is required to learning. By means of a survey, we collect data referring to elementary school, prior knowledge and students’ main doubts. The results allow defining a student profile and suggest the need of adding alternative ways to complement their basic education.

This article proposes three activities that can be developed to study the circle for High School students. All proposed activities use the free software of the dynamic geometry Geogebra as learning tool. The suggested activities have as goal to teach, through instruction scripts, the following content: circle equations (reduced and general), relative position between point and circle and relative position between line and circle. In addition, we will portray an analysis of the activities that based the proposal of our task when these were executed in three Technical Learning Integrated to High School’s third year junior groups. We conclude the validity of the activities by student performance on assessments, showing a better knowledge of the subject in relation to students in classes in which there GeoGebra was not used.

In 2012 came a proposal for restructuring the high school in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, known as Integrated Seminar. This aims to assess general education to diverse part of the curriculum through an interdisciplinary planning of directed researching. In this scenario, here comes the motivation to prepare this work. This study presents three interdisciplinary activities relating mathematics to other disciplines. Our proposal is that these activities may serve as a possible basis for preparation and/ or structuring activities in Integrated Seminars. Along with every activity, we propose a social practice related to research as well as in which way these activities will prepare the young to be inserted in the labor market. The material prepared by the teachers involved and the choice of teaching methods used is subsidized by a literature research we performed on the subject about interdisciplinary. The activities were implemented in two classes of third year of high school, in a private school in the city of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul. We also present some data that we consider relevant in terms of pedagogical gain.

As the concept of probability is fundamental to the individual formation due to its form of reasoning,to its applicability and to the professional field, we present a proposal that suggests, first, a problematization then the definition of the probability jargon. It follows that methodology, since the history occurs in this order: first the problems arise, then the concepts and definitions. So, we use the technology in two virtual and interactive quizzes to be solved by students, since playing has an important role during the constrution of the concepts and definitions, the student becomes easily closer to the whole subject.
