Cemeteries and crematoria are the main funeral ways used in the world nowadays. It is a little-studied segment in the present days, mainly as for the possible environmental impacts in the environment, such as those derived from dental amalgam, prostheses, and dioxins, among other. This article aimed to identify the environmental impacts caused by cemeteries and crematoria and to point out new trends in funeral processes such as freeze-drying and alkaline hydrolysis. The study is justified due to the large part of the Brazilian population that do not know the environmental impacts caused by cemeteries and crematoria, as well as to bring information about the new processes. For that, a research was carried out with 400 people. The main results show that among all the funeral processes, the new freeze-drying process was opted by 33% of the sample. We also identified that the main reasons for choosing the funeral process were less environmental impact (28%), no after-death expenses (grave payment) (16.1%), and the possibility of putting away or throwing away the remains wherever you want (14.9%). Finally, new funeral processes were well accepted by the Brazilian population—those who were interviewed—due to their benefits.

Brazil is the world’s largest coffee producer and exporter. However the new prices and volatility scenario since the 2008 crisis and the increasing competition of new players entry have expressed the need for use of market mechanisms for managing price risk. Among the alternatives illustrated are the futures markets, in particular the coffee futures contracts at BM&FBOVESPA, Brazil. Our aim was to evaluate the efficiency of no hedge, simple (naive) hedge, static and dynamic hedge calculated by GARCH-BEKK strategies in managing price risk in the leading Brazilian coffee producing regions. The efficiencies of static and dynamic hedging strategies were superior to the other, although the latter allows the calibration of intertemporal hedging rates, reducing operational costs. Also, the use of BM&FBOVESPA coffee futures contracts for hedging might increase market liquidity, enabling various operational alternatives design.

The objective of this paper was to analyze the development of the Integrated Sector Project Wines of Brasil from the behavioral approach to the networks internationalization process. The methodology consisted in a case study with the analysis of the actions of internationalization adopted by companies linked to the sector project integrated Wines of Brasil during 2002 to 2012. The results show that the formation phase of the project was focused on the strategic development of foreign markets for Brazilian fine wines; during consolidation phase, strategic guidance was aimed at economic development of the national wine industry as well as to service the segment international consumer market interested in new products from fine wine producing regions; the development phase the project establishment of a physical presence in key markets for fine wines and sparkling overall resulting in the need for decentralization of some of the management activities of relationships established by half of the participating organizations. Future studies are suggested taking into consideration the analysis of this behavioral approach in other productive sectors in Brazil using internationalization strategies to obtain greater share of the consumer market. The objective of this paper was to analyze the development of the Integrated Sector Project Wines of Brasil from the behavioral approach to the networks internationalization process.
