QUALITY TEACHING AT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS: TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS IN THE FIELD OF PHYSICS

It is presented one proposal for pedagogical intervention to improve the teaching and learning of physics in higher education institutions. The project is a training of 12 hours for professors concerning teaching and learning of Physics. The aims of the proposal are to identify the factors and conditions that favor learning, to concretize short, medium and long term pedagogical plans, as well as to train with the teachers participants the writing of pedagogical aims, the differentiated and strategic application of models and methods of teaching, to apply and to create evaluation instruments; all of it will be based on constructivist alignment and in SOLO taxonomy. This kind of project can be restructured to other kinds of contents, such as Mathematics, History, or even a specific content of one subject, the Mechanics, in a course of Physics. This paper can be used as a guideline to establish a course to teach teachers so that the students learning can be effective and profound.

Mobility, Cyberculture, App and Digital Citizenship: A Case Study of “Universidade Conectada”

The need of new sociability behaviours promoted new ways of technological development, changing, shifting and creating unusual relations between Man and information and communication technologies. This was exactly what happened at the turn of the 20th century to 21st century when many revolutionary network communication electronic devices were developed. In this sense, this paper presents a mobile application called “Universidade Conectada” that, through e-participation and mobilizes the academic community to monitor structural problems in universities. A descriptive qualitative study of empirical nature, supported by the development methodology of a prototype was made. As a result of this study were identified, among other things, the possibility to promote integrated actions to solve issues as a consequence of the involvement and integration of the academic community in association with the developed app.

TRADUZ: Proposal of an interactive translator for people with hearing special needs

This work proposes the construction of a tool for communication between listeners and speakers through the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) and the French Sign Language (LFS), making a simultaneous translation between the Brazilian written language and the French written language integrated through a web application, with the aid of the recognition of signals by techniques of image recognition and use of webservices. In addition, it raises a bibliography of the struggle of disabled people, the importance of non-verbal communication in human life, as well as an analysis of several translators available in the electronic mean, raising their strengths and weaknesses by comparing them in standard color, structure and navigation used. At the end of the study, a general evaluation is carried out on the application of a questionnaire to the users and a case study with TRADUZ.

Mass media in teaching and learning: Circumstances in higher education

The new media became an extension of the traditional media, allowing to the public access information in a wide range of digital devices. In this sense, our qualitative study with empirical descriptive nature focuses on a literature review about Web Radio and its educative strand. This is an innovator and incipient issue on literature when investigating the potentialities of the radiophonic universe to the online educative process. By itself, the fruitful study follows the path of the radiophonic evolution integrating the online education on the media sphere, especially on the production of educational content to the programs and the conception of a new language to the environment, a promising ambience to the contemporary radiophonic culture. This investigation considered it important to analyze the educational potentialities of web radios in the Portuguese academic universe. For that purpose, given the characteristics of the study, the research methodology used was of qualitative and empirical-descriptive.
