Aphids (Homoptera : Aphididae) from Sundardhunga Valley, Kumaon Himalaya, India

Abstract This paper provides a list of 48 species of aphids collected during an expedition to Sundardhunga Valley in the Almora district of Uttar Pradesh, India and contains descriptions of 2 new species, viz., Eriosoma iongipllosum and Masonaphis (Neomasonaphis) rumicis, and descriptions of some undescribcd morphs of 7 species. Further, 3 species are reported for the first time from India.

Abstract A new genus Indocinara and seven new species of aphids, Cavariella biswasi, Dysaphis atinus, Eutricosiphum assamense, Greenidea symplocosis, Macrostphoniella spinipes rhododendri, Indocinara hottesis, Tricaudatus indicus, are described from Northeast (Shillong) and Northwest (Simla), India.

Studies on aphids (Homoptera : Aphididae) from Eastern India. New species and new records from Assam

Abstract Six new species, Aulocorthum dasi, Eutrichosiphum taoi, Greenidea (Trichosiphum) bucktonis, Greenidea (Trichosiphum) manii, Macrosiphoniella matsumurana and Vesiculaphis kuwanais are described from Assam, and 30 species are reported for the first time from the same State, of which 7 species, viz., Ceratovacuna nekoashi (Sasaki), Ceratovacuna sp. B. Takahashi, Clethrobius near comes (Walker), Greenidea eugeniae Takahashi, Melanaphis arundinariae Takahashi, Metanipponaphis near cuspiditae (Essig & Kuwana) and Uroleucon tanaceti (L.) are new records from India. Besides, males of the six species, Aulacorthum sp, Macrosiphum (Sitobion) rosaeformis Das, Macrosiphum (Sitobion) sp., Rhopalosiphum nymphaeae (L ), Myzus persicae (Sulz.) and Schizaphis ? rotundiventris (Signoret) are also noted.

Studies on the aphids (Homoptera : Aphididae) from Eastern India: III. New genus, new species and new records from North Bengal and Sikkim *

Abstract Extensive collections of aphids from cultivated and wild plants of North Bengal and Sikkim reveal ten new species and subspecies : Akkaia neopolygoni, Aulacorthum rhamni, Greenidea longicornis, Macrosiphum spinotibium, Macrosiphum (Sitobion) plectranthi, Megalophyllaphis obscura, gen. et spec, nov., Megoura cajanae, Neoacyrthostphon rhododendri, Neoacyrthosiphon taiheisanum ovalifolii and Tinocallis distincta. Besides, five new records of aphids from India and apterous ovipara of Megoura cajanae are also described. The status of Sitobion indicum Basu 1964 is discussed.

Aphids (Homoptera) of Simla (Himachal Pradesh), India

Abstract This paper embodies the result of a survey of the aphid fauna from Himachal Pradesh. Twenty-two species, distributed over 18 genera, are reported, of which Capitophorus gerattii, Dactynotus fagopyri, Kaburagia ailanthi, Macrasiphum geranii and Vesiculaphis verbasci are new.

On a collection of aphids (Homoptera) from Kuti Valley, West Himalaya

Abstract This paper embodies the results of a preliminary survey of the aphid fauna from Kuti Valley (3,658–6,630 metre), Uttar Pradesh, India. Seventeen species, distributed over 12 genera, are reported, of which Macrosiphoniella sudhakaris, Paczoskia budhium and Uroleucon kumaoni are new. The apterous form of Micromyzus judenkoi Carver is also described for the first time. Alate males for Brevicoryne brassicae (Kltb.), Chaetosiphon (Pentatrichopus) fragaefoli (Cockerell), Dysaphis sp.t and Jacksonia sp. are recorded for the first time from India.

A new genus, a new species and further records of aphids (Homoptera : Aphididae) from the Kumaon Hills, Northwest Himalaya, India

Abstract A new genus Indoidiopterus, with Capitophorus geranii Chowdhuri et al., as the type-species, and a new species, Eutrichosiphum pyri are described. Twenty-eight other species are reported as new records for the region. These include Dysaphis foeniculus (Theobald), Pleotrichophorus glandulosus (Kaltenbach), Thuleaphis ? amygdalinus (Schouteden), which are recorded for the first time from India. The hitherto undescribed alate viviparous females of Impatientinum impatiense dalhousiensis Verma and the apterous viviparous females of Periphyllus aesculi Hills Ris Lambers are also recorded.

Abstract Anocaudus, new genus, with Anocaudus taxus, new species and Acyrthosiphon (Metopolophium) spireae, new species are described. Alate males of Aphis nasturtii Kalt., Brevicoryne brassicae (Linn ), Dysaphis ghanii Stroyan and alate viviparae of Epipemphigus imaicus (Chol.) are recorded besides sexuales of two undetermined species.

A note on Chaetomyzus, Ericolophium, and Neoacyrthosiphon, including a new subgenus Pseudoacyrthosiphon (Homoptera) from India

Abstract In the course of study of three Southeast Asian aphid genera Chaetomyzus Ghosh & Raychaudhuri 1962, Ericolophium Tao 1963, Neoacyrthosiphon Tao 1963, the authors came across a new subgenus, which is described here as Pseudoacyrthosiphon with type species Macrosiphum holsti Takahashi 1935 [=Ericolophium holsti (Takahashi), Tao 1963, from Rhododendron morti, Taiwan]. The generic status of Neoacyrthosiphon Tao 1963 is upheld. A key is provided for the separation of the three genera.
