The municipality of Caucaia, located in the State of Ceara, has been showing a great population growth, resulting in a significant urban expansion accelerated in recent years. In this context, it has developed a Geographic Information System (GIS) with the main objective of realizing the socio-environmental and auxiliary activities related to management and land use. In designing the system, we used orthophotos at scales 1:20,000 (area of the city) and 1:2,000 (urban area of the seat), generating a proposed grouping of cartographic data mapped at the level of detail. From the GIS, one can perform analyzes and queries (spatial or tabular), allowing the visualization of geographic data and optimizing the search of information, contributing in a direct way in making the correct decision on the part of public managers. A point to note is the potential for future system upgrades, and the same dynamic.

O perfil longitudinal de um rio e a representacao cartesiana da relacao entre sua altitude e o seu comprimento. Esta relacao tem sido usada como importante elemento para estudos geomorfologicos e hidrologicos; a exemplo dos estudos para determinacao das anomalias de drenagem. Este trabalho teve como objetivo a determinacao e classificacoes das anomalias de drenagem do Rio Capibaribe (PE). A analise foi feita a partir do perfil longitudinal do Rio Capibaribe, construido com o auxilio do software Google Earth, atraves do indice RDE proposto por Hack (1973). O perfil longitudinal do Rio Capibaribe encontra-se relativamente equilibrado, apresentando ainda anomalias de 2a e 1a ordem. Tal perfil apresentou uma geometria atipica nos trechos entre os quilometros 100 e 150, 150 e 200 e 200 e 250 em decorrencia do aumento das declividades no sentido de montante para jusante, visto que a literatura indica que em um perfil tipico as declividades devem diminuir no sentido da foz.

This research aimed to make a multi-temporal analysis of vegetation cover in the municipality of Garanhuns-PE, in times dating back to 1990, 2000 and 2010, showing the gradual removal of vegetation for pastures and urban expansion, for this analysis was taken as parameters calculations NDVI-(Index Normalized Difference Vegetation) are spectral transformations, resulting remote sensing TM / LANDSAT 5 in ArcGis 10.2.2 computing environment. The NDVI images were classified into four classes, they are: dense vegetation, sparse vegetation, undergrowth and no vegetation, through this classification was possible to quantify the degraded areas of vegetation cover classified as dense vegetation, dense vegetation in 1990 corresponded to an area of 26.9406 Km², and a percentage of 6%, in 2010 the dense vegetation decreased by 6%, getting only 0% of its dense vegetation, corresponding to an area of 2,052 km², the class named as sparse vegetation, had in 1990 an area of 297.9594 Km², corresponding to a percentage of 65%, since the last year of analysis these numbers increase to an area of 355,7592Km², corresponding to 78%.

Resumo O presente trabalho tem como objetivo utilizar o sensoriamento remoto na analise da expansao urbana, buscando melhorar a identificacao de areas de crescimento da cidade e compreender da melhor forma o crescimento e expansao do municipio. Os estudos tomam por base o municipio de Garanhuns, no interior de Pernambuco. O sensoriamento remoto acaba proporcionando maior velocidade e objetividade no processo alem de trazer consigo um numero maior de dados para analise podendo assim servir de base para planejamentos atuais e futuros alem de fornecer informacoes para controle e conhecimento da area em questao. Para analise alem do Sensoriamento remoto foi utilizado o NDBI (Normalized Difference Built-up Index), como indice de identificacao dos alvos escolhidos, por suas caracteristicas de realce de corpos de edificacoes e construcoes em meio ao espectro eletromagnetico, ele foi a melhor escolha para tornar o trabalho mais preciso e atual, na fomentacao dos dados utilizou-se das imagens de satelite obtidas pelo LANDSAT-5 disponibilizadas pela USGS, tais imagens foram tratadas com o software ARCGIS 10.2.2, objetivando extrair o maior numero possivel de informacoes para melhor conhecimento do objeto de estudo. Abstract This paper aims to use the remote sensing analysis of urban expansion, seeking to improve the identification of growth areas of the city and the best way to understand the growth and expansion of the city. The studies are based on the municipality of Garanhuns, the interior of Pernambuco. Remote sensing ends providing greater speed and objectivity in the process as well as bring a greater number of data for analysis and thus can serve as a basis for current and future planning and provide information for control and knowledge of the area in question. For analysis beyond the NDBI Remote sensing was used as identification of targets selected index by its characteristics highlight the bodies of building and construction amid the electromagnetic spectrum, it was the best choice to make the most accurate and current job in fostering data was used satellite images obtained by LANDSAT-5 provided by USGS, such images were treated with 10.2.2 software ARCGIS, aiming to extract the greatest possible amount of information for better understanding of the object of study. O presente trabalho, busca realizar uma caracterizacao fisiografica do municipio de Garanhuns, Pernambuco, ha uma distância de 228 Km da capital, Recife. Para a elaboracao da pesquisa foi utilizado tecnicas de geoprocessamento, para consolidar os resultados obtidos. Para a realizacao doestudo foi usado dados de Modelos Digitais de Elevacao, o SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) e imagens de satelite do LandSat 8. Foi utilizado o Software ArcGis 10. 2. 2, para os processamentos digitais das imagens. Para a concretizacao dos resultados, foi empregado tambem dados de ida ao campo de estudo, para comprovacao de dados obtidos com as imagens de satelite e para a coleta de informacoes. Contudo foi elaborado figuras da localizacao, altimetria, perfil topografico, sombreamento do relevo, direcionamento dos declives e compartimentacao do relevo, do municipio de Garanhuns, para representacao.

In this paper the objective is to use remote sensing for identification and mapping of certain areas, seeking to identify such areas to demonstrate the possibilities of a larger organization in the county analyzed. The study is based on Garanhuns municipality, located in the federal unit of Pernambuco. Remote sensing provides greater objectivity, thus making identification of the analyzed areas easier, and provide a greater amount of data for a variety of analyzes, thus providing the basis for future work, which have the same objective of a larger organization area. To identify the composition RGB (Red, green, and blue) fused with the panchromatic band was utilized, so that it has a higher spatial resolution, that facilitates the identification which is intended to have, the fostering of the data, we used the satellite image acquired by Landsat-8, provided by the USGS, such images were treated with 10.2.2 ArcGIS software, aiming to extract the greatest possible amount of information for better treatment of the data analyzed.

The use of remote sensing has been widely used by researchers. In order to get better results on the constant dynamics of vegetation cover. This paper presents a space-temporal analysis, using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), through the use of GIS and Remote Sensing techniques, using images related to the years 1994, 2000 and 2010. The methodology used is the prospecting literature and the treatment of remote sensing images, were used images of the satellite TM / Landsat 5, after correction of the images was calculated from NDVI, to make it possible to classify the vegetation and prepare the maps and get the data about the distribution of vegetation throughout the area Caetes-PE municipality. After this step, the graphicsand tables were produced that allowed a comparative analysis between vegetation indicesrelated to eac hyear studied.

This paper conducts a study of the area covering the east of Pau yellow, which is located in the rugged southern municipality of Garanhuns - Pernambuco. To consider it as a fundamental framework dictates set by the Brazilian environmental legislation presents: New Forest Code (Law 12,651), CONAMA 303, Municipal Director Plan to assess their current application in the environmental context of this study area. We can see the need to upgrade, and application specific control of public power to the area, still punctuating the observed environmental impacts. We propose to determine in respect of the regulatory provisions that the source is an area of permanent preservation and awareness in the population that their actions are changing the quality of natural resources.

The present study aims at monitoring the Municipal Index Alert (IMA) in the period between the years 2004 to 2010, aiming to contribute to the progress and challenges municipalities face of adversity on preventive guidelines in the context of semi-arid climate in the State of Ceara, based on analysis and reflection report published annually by IPECE. It was found that the cities of Independencia, Madalena, Penaforte e Taua have always been in the class of high vulnerability. These municipalities have as main characteristic having low rainfall, is also vulnerable with respect to agricultural production.

The municipality of Horizonte, located in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza – MRF spent the last 26 years by intense changes in their spatial configuration and in its environmental conditions, in order to separate two horizons, but connected, that outlined before and after the logic of industrialization. Thus, aimed to evaluate the territorial municipality of Horizonte, from new methods of integration and systematization of data and information by analyzing environmental. In order to quantify the urban sprawl in the years 1987, 1996, 2000, 2006 and 2010, multitemporal analysis was performed from TM/Landsat-5. In this perspective, a research has addressed, yet, historical factors that justify the use of space, well as aspects of its socioeconomic, population and its implications for environmental sanitation.
