THE PHENOMENA OF TEACHING CAAD AND MULTIMEDIA IN ARCHITECTURE EDUCATION AT PETRA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

Numerical simulation with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) is actually common method for the researches on building aerodynamics. This study is focused on the observation of air movement behavior through large openings of typical high rise buildings in the tropical humid environment. Some values of Cdinlet (discharge coefficient for inlet opening) of each opening for several architectural configurations are obtained. Generally the results show that the value of Cdinlet is not depend on the height of opening but it is influenced by its architectural configuration. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Simulasi numerik dengan paket program CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) saat ini telah menjadi hal yang umum sebagai alat bantu dalam bidang riset mengenai aerodinamika bangunan. Studi ini, yang juga menggunakan alat bantu CFD, difokuskan pada observasi mengenai perilaku pergerakan angin yang melewati bukaan-bukaan lebar pada suatu bangunan tinggi yang dikondisikan memakai sistim penghawaan alami. Melalui metoda ini didapatkan sejumlah angka Cd (discharge coefficient) dari setiap bukaan untuk beberapa konfigurasi arsitektural. Adapun angka Cd diperlukan untuk mengestimasi besarnya debit ventilatif yang melewati bukaan-bukaan. Hasilnya secara umum menunjukkan bahwa nilai Cd tidak tergantung pada posisi ketinggian bukaan tetapi lebih dipengaruhi oleh konfigurasi arsitekturalnya. The Value of Corridor in Flat as Place Attachment In the Life of the Dwellers

Place attachment has been examined extensively in the behavioral and architecture studies over the past two decades. In the production of housing, designers mainly focus on the quality of the physical components. Place attachment is just the form of connection between a person and the environmental setting. However, it was challenging for this study to grasp the aspects of meanings and attachment, both in the level of personal, community and natural environment contexts, which are not adequately considered in the design process. In this study, three-dimensional model of personal and community attachments to their corridor in the flat was conceptually and empirically examined. The aim is to test an integrated approach to measuring place attachment at the corridor in flat in understanding the values of locations in the life of the dwellers. Housing and settlements problem in Indonesia could not be separated from society conditions and government policies. Arrangement of the guidance for housing and settlements implementation more comprehensively was done since the Pelita V. Because social politic conditons; reformation; changing paradigm on national development, and answering the challenge and agenda on housing and settlements in the future, so Ministry of Settlements and Regional Infrastructure decided to arranging National Policy and Strategy for Housing and Settlements, that all at once reformation policy on housing and settlements. This new policy is Ministry of Settlements and Regional Infrastructure Decree No. 217 / KPTS / M / 2002 about National Policy and Strategy for Housing and Settlements. This basic guidance still must be clarified more operationall. Clarifying technically through the preparation of regulation, planning, programming, implementing, controlling and the managing of development more integratedly on all of government level, both at central government and Province, Regency or City government, that will be reflected through the preparation of Propeda, RP4D and Repetada each. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Persoalan perumahan dan permukiman di Indonesia sesungguhnya tidak terlepas dari dinamika yang terjadi dalam kehidupan masyarakat maupun kebijakan pemerintah di dalam mengelola perumahan dan permukiman. Penyusunan arahan untuk penyelenggaraan perumahan dan permukiman, sesungguhnya secara lebih komprehensif telah dilakukan sejak Pelita V. Seiring perkembangan sosial politik yang ada; tuntutan reformasi; perubahan paradigma penyelenggaraan pembangunan nasional, dan dalam upaya menjawab tantangan serta agenda bidang perumahan dan permukiman ke depan, maka Departemen Permukiman dan Prasarana Wilayah (KIMPRASWIL) memandang perlu untuk menyusun Kebijakan dan Strategi Nasional Perumahan dan Permukiman, yang sekaligus merupakan reformasi dalam bidang perumahan dan permukiman. Kebijakan baru tersebut dituangkan dalam Surat Keputusan Menteri KIMPRASWIL, No. 217/KPTS/M/ 2002 tentang Kebijaksanaan dan Strategi Nasional Perumahan dan Permukiman (KSNPP), yang merupakan arahan dasar yang masih harus dijabarkan secara lebih operasional oleh berbagai pihak yang berkepentingan di bidang penyelenggaraan perumahan dan permukiman. Penjabaran secara teknis melalui kegiatan penyiapan perangkat pengaturan, perencanaan, pemrograman, pelaksanaan, dan pengendalian serta pengelolaan pembangunan dilakukan secara menyeluruh di semua tingkatan pemerintahan, baik di Pusat maupun Propinsi, Kabupaten dan Kota, yang dapat dicerminkan melalui penyiapan Propeda, RP4D dan Repetada di tingkat daerah.
