The SOA paradigm and e-service architecture reconsidered from the e-business perspective

A business service has well founded structure where its operations (corresponding to request-quote, order-contract, invoice-payment) are related to each other. These relations cannot be expressed in WSDL. The request-quote operation corresponds to SLA negotiations and can be performed in a universal description language such as OWL that can also express all the relations between service operations mentioned above. Generally, from the e-business perspective the following notions are important: (1) Service architecture. (2) Communication protocols in e-business processes. These notions are crucial for providing standards necessary for creating open, heterogeneous and scalable systems for realizing complex e-business processes. These notions are discussed in the paper.

Ontological Support for Teaching the Blind Students Spatial Orientation Using Virtual Sound Reality.

Dariusz Mikulowski; Marek Pilski

The teaching spatial orientation of blind children currently takes place through traditional methods such as orientation courses in artificial environments with objects set in them. This paper proposes a virtual sound reality based on the use of semantic techniques such as specially created ontologies and relevant application machines that could considerably modernize these methods. Such virtual sound reality can be used to create systems for teaching the spatial orientation of the blind with appropriate software.

Poster: An Approach for Supporting of Navigation of Blind People in Public Building Based on Hierarchical Map Ontology

Dariusz Mikulowski; Marek Pilski

The blind people encounters great difficulties with independent movement in unknown environment. However, navigation in open outside space is partially supported due to their ability to hear of sound reflected from obstacles, therefore movement across the unknown areas of public buildings is even harder. There are also various helping systems i.e. inbuilt physical items, such as the metal paths leading to important places or round protrusions are applied. But the installation of such support is usually too expensive. Therefore it is a great need of easier electronic supporting of navigation of blind people in public buildings. In this paper, a concept of specially developed hierarchical object map ontology is proposed. All objects in this ontology can be physically labeled by radio labels (i.e. bluetooth) and have description of their characteristic features such as their attributes and relationships. Due to this, the routes between two any objects will be easy to create.

A Platform for Development of Electronic Markets of Sophisticated Business Services

The key idea of our approach is that the arrangement phase (request-quote) of business service can be realized in a generic way independent of application domain. On the basis of this idea a new information technology is proposed (in the form of specifications and protocols) and implemented as a prototype system for business process automation (including planning, composing of services, and execution). Augmented with social media it is the basis for creating a communication platform for developing electronic markets.

Agent Based Infrastructure for Web-Service Integration

Stanislaw Ambroszkiewicz; Leszek Rozwadowski; Dariusz Mikulowski

A new simple minimum language Entish is proposed for automatic web service integration. The integration is done by autonomous software agents. The new language is fully declarative although it corresponds functionally to WSFL, XLANG, XAML, and DAML-S which are procedural languages. This is achieved by separating the essential data of the integration process (agent) from execution and reasoning machinery (that must be realized procedurally), and moving it outside Entish to a dedicated service (i.e., BodyService). The essential data are expressed in Entish (as agent soul) and serve as control data of the agent process responsible for web service integration. Entish is implemented on HTTP+SOAP, however, it may be also implemented on the top of SOAP+WSDL+UDDI stack if the syntax of WSDL is adopted.

A Concept of Agent Language in Agentspace

Stanislaw Ambroszkiewicz; Tomasz Nowak; Dariusz Mikulowski; Leszek Rozwadowski

Agentspace is an emerging environment resulting from process automation in the Internet and Web. It is supposed that autonomous software (mobile) agents provide the automation. The agents realize the goals delegated to them by their human masters. Interoperability is crucial to assure meaningful interaction, communication and cooperation between heterogeneous agents and services. In order to realize the goals, the agents must create, manage and reconfigure complex workflows. The presentation is focused on language layer of agentspace architecture.
