Presentation of the Compensated Dual Resistivity (CDR) tool, electromagnetic propagation tool for measurement while drilling. The CDR provides two resistivity measurements with several novel features that are verified with theoritical modeling, test-tank experiments, and log examples.

The wellbore condition and its corresponding effect on log readings must be assessed and corrected for during log quality control and formation evaluation. Differences arise between measurement-while-drilling (MWD) and wireline neutron density, photoelectric factor (PEF) logs made in the same well because the two systems respond differently to the wellbore environment. Differences also occur because of changes in wellbore condition over time
