Fatores de risco para transmissão da Hanseníase.

Andréia Soprani dos Santos; Denise Silveira de Castro; Aloísio Falqueto

This case-control study aimed to identify individual risk factors regarding the transmission of leprosy. The group case represented by 90 cases of leprosy sick people pontificated at SINAN during 2003 and 2006 and a group control constituted by 270 healthy people, paired by gender and age. There was significant statistical between occurrence of the disease and its current presence (OR: 2,9) and old cases (OR= 5,0) of leprosy among co-sanguine relatives. Knowing that the only exam of the contact in the act of the diagnostic detects a minimum part of the new cases, it is proposed to execute periodical examinations of the contact of leprosy for detecting the new cases. This case-control study aimed to identify individual risk factors regarding the transmission of leprosy. The study evaluates the data from the Mortality Information System in Espírito Santo, southeastern Brazil in the period from 1998 to 2007. It is a descriptive analytic study based on secondary data. The variables of sex, age, race/color, level of education and marital status in women who died of breast cancer were evaluated. The scores used were excellent (variable shows less than 5% of incomplete coverage), good (5% to 10%), fair (10% to 20%), poor (20% to 50%) and very poor (50% or higher). The linear trend equations were calculated using SPSS, version 15.0 for non-plenitude over time. It is essential to include in the education of health professionals, especially in undergraduate and postgraduate studies in medicine, content that develops skills and competencies for systematic registration of epidemiological data, so they can be included in the health information systems.O estudo avalia a completude dos dados do Sistema de Informacao sobre Mortalidade no Espirito Santo, Regiao Sudeste e Brasil no periodo de 1998 a 2007.

Health information systems make it possible to be aware of health problems and often represent the sole source of information, thereby making it essential to assess their quality. The scope of this paper was to evaluate the quality of data about live births and deaths in the neonatal period in the Live Births Information System (SINASC) and Mortality Information System (SIM) in the state of Espirito Santo during the period from 2007 to 2009. Descriptive methodology with secondary data obtained from the electronic address of the Informatics Department of the Unified Health System was used to analyze the dimensions of quality of information, namely accessibility, timeliness and completeness. The results indicate that the information is accessible and timely, with a lag of three years compared to the beginning of the study. The completeness of the variables analyzed in SINASC was predominantly classified as excellent. SIM revealed a high percentage of missing data on the number of the Live Birth Declaration, mothers education, age and reproductive history. The conclusion reached is that SINASC is an excellent source of information about births, though SIM reveals a marked need for improvements in the completeness of its information.

OBJECTIVE to identify the incidence and describe the associated factors for pressure ulcers in critically ill patients. METHOD this was a prospective cohort study with 77 patients, using a clinical, metabolic assessment and the associated factors for pressure ulcer, applying the risk scales (Braden and Waterlow) and assigning ulcers to categories. RESULTS an incidence of 22% (95% CI 12.6 - 31.5), with 17 patients with 32 pressure ulcers in the sacral region (47%), and of Class I (72%). The length of stay was greater than ten days (71%), most admissions were surgical (53%) or for congestive heart failure (24%), and were high risk on the Braden Scale (59%). CONCLUSION the study highlights the high incidence of pressure ulcers, clinical and metabolic characteristics and associated factors, as well as the outcome of death, requiring, therefore, preventive measures.

OBJECTIVE: To examine the relationship among the coping strategies adopted by women with breast cancer using tamoxifen and sociodemographic conditions. METHODS: A cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach. Data were obtained in an interview conducted with 270 women, with a diagnosis of breast cancer using tamoxifen, users of the outpatient Ylza Bianco center, belonging to the Hospital Santa Rita de Cassia, in Vitoria / ES (Brazil). The analysis was performed using SPSS - Version 13.0 - 2004. RESULTS: Illiterate women faced the problem by prioritizing the search for religious practices (p <0.05); and women with higher education, belonging to economic class B, with family income more than three times the minimum wage and who lived in urban areas employ more coping strategies that are focused on the problem (p <0.05). CONCLUSION: The coping strategy adopted is associated with sociodemographic characteristics. Objective: To examine the relationship among the coping strategies adopted by women with breast cancer using tamoxifen and sociodemographic conditions. OBJECTIVE To investigate the Nursing diagnostic accuracy measures and to propose a model to use defining characteristics in order to judge the nursing diagnosis of ineffective breastfeeding. METHOD Cross-sectional study with a sample of 73 binomials mom-child hospitalized in a maternity ward of an University Hospital, from July to August of 2014. RESULTS The diagnostic predominance rate was 58.9%. The characteristics that best meet the needs of logistic regression model were: discontinuance of breast sucking; infants inability of seizing the areola-nipple region correctly; infants crying one hour after breastfeeding and inappropriate milk supply perceived. CONCLUSION Breastfeeding process is dynamic; diagnostic judgement may suffer some changes according to the time data are collected; the defining characteristics are the best predictors if associated with models and rules of use.
