On a sum form functional equation related to entropies and some moments of a discrete random variable

The general solutions of a sum form functional equation have been obtained. The importance of its solutions in relation to the entropies and some moments of a discrete random variable has been discussed.

On a Functional Equation Containing an Indexed Family of Unknown Mappings

In this paper, without imposing any regularity conditions on the mappings under considerations, all possible general solutions of a functional equation have been obtained.

SOME FUNCTIONAL EQUATIONS AND THEIR CORRESPONDING SUM FORMS

Some of these solutions are related to entropies of type (α, β) proposed by Behara and Nath [Information and entropy of countable measurable partitions I, Kybernetika10 (1974) 491–503].
