U.S. Experts' Perceptions on International Business Communication Action Statements

Abstract A Delphi panel of 22 U.S.-based international business communication experts rated 57 international business communication action statements using a 5-point Likert-type scale of importance. They rated 17 of these action statements as major ones. Factor analysis grouped the action statements into the following 11 factors that impact international business communication: Business Language, Instructional Guidelines, International Standards, Desirable Standards, Instructional Goals, Research Goals, Business-World Dimensions, Cross-Cultural Perspectives, Business Foreign Language, Broadening Background, and Business Language Differences. A statistically significant difference (p > .05) was found between the factor of Business Language Differences and the demographic characteristic of level of academic degree.
