Photonic network optimization via resource and LSPs concurrent allocation: A PCE+ concept

This paper proposes the concept of PCE+:a path computation element that performs a concurrent impairments aware routing and regenerator location for a WSON network using a fast analytical assessment of the optical lightpath feasibility.

WSON impact on optical network planning

WSON introducing restoration resource sharing for DWDM imposes new challenge to the network design. This paper illustrates resource and circuit planning algorithms used to accomplish an optimal WSON network design; some results are also shown.

OTN pit-stop in wavelength switched optical networks

A flexible “pit-stop” station for lightpaths is proposed for dynamic WSONs. It is based on a detour of the wavelengths that need 3R regeneration towards an external OTN switch connected to pairs of electronic interfaces.

Evolutive lightpath assessment in GMPLS-controlled transparent optical networks

A method to mix impairments estimations and in-field measured data is proposed to evaluate the Quality of Transmission of new lightpaths. It is applied before lightpath establishment and increases the reliability of QoT estimation.
