Periodic solutions for nonconvex differential inclusions

Shouchuan Hu; Dimitrios A. Kandilakis; Nikolaos S. Papageorgiou

In this paper we prove the existence of periodic solutions for differential inclusions with nonconvex-valued orientor field. Our proof is based on degree theoretic arguments.

On the existence of solutions for random differential inclusions in a Banach space

Dimitrios A. Kandilakis; Nikolaos S. Papageorgiou

Abstract We prove two existence theorems for random differential inclusions defined in a separable Banach space. One is about differential inclusions defined on all of the Banach space X and the other for differential inclusion defined on a closed convex subset K. Both theorems are proved through the use of analogous deterministic results, which we also include, and techniques from the theory of measurable multifunctions.

Maximum and minimum solutions for nonlinear parabolic problems with discontinuities

Dimitrios A. Kandilakis; Nikolaos S. Papageorgiou

In this paper we examine nonlinear parabolic problems with a discontinuous right hand side. Assuming the existence of an upper solution φ and a lower solution ψ such that ψ ≤ φ, we establish the existence of a maximum and a minimum solution in the order interval [ψ, φ]. Our approach does not consider the multivalued interpretation of the problem, but a weak one side “Lipschitz” condition on the discontinuous term. By employing a fixed point theorem for nondecreasing maps, we prove the existence of extremal solutions in [ψ, φ for the original single valued version of the problem.
