Market-Basket Analysis is a process to analyze the habits of buyers to find the relationship between different items in their market basket. The discovery of these relationships can help the merchant to develop a sales strategy by considering the items frequently purchased together by customers. In this research, the data mining with market basket analysis method is implemented, where it can analyze the buying habit of the customers. The testing is conducted in Minimarket X. Searching for frequent itemsets performed by Apriori algorithm to get the items that often appear in the database and the pair of items in one transaction. Pair of items that exceed the minimum support will be included into the frequent itemsets are selected. Frequent itemsets that exceed the minimum support will generate association rules after decoding. One frequent itemsets can generate association rules and find the confidence, which is uses a hybrid-dimension association rules. The test results show, the application can generate the information what kind of products are frequently bought in the same time by the customers according to Hybrid-dimension Association Rules criteria. Results from the mining process show a correlation between the data (association rules) including the support and confidence that can be analyzed. This information will give additional consideration for owners of Minimarket X to make the further decision.

Nowadays some universities have been using e-learning in the teaching-learning process. Generally e-learning available in the form of web based application, but does not exist in the form of mobile application yet. Problem that arise when using a mobile device is the screen size is too small, so that the user need to zoom and scroll to get comfortable viewing. Another problem is the user using varying operating system such as android, blackberry and iOS. To overcome those problems, this research is conducted to assist in the teaching-learning process by developing a model of mobile e-learning application that can run on cross-platform, which is on Android and BlackBerry platform. The application is created using PhoneGap that uses HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript based on Hybrid Mobile Application. The system on the application follows Lentera e-learning system based on Moodle. Lentera is a web based e-learning system used in Petra Charistian University. On the server side, it takes a modified Moodles source code based on PHP so the application can be run in accordance with the system. The application has a different interface from the website version. The interface is designed to be suitable on smartphone which is has limited screen space. The result shows that the application can run on cross-platform, those are Blackberry and Android smartphone. The application also runs online together with the Lentera website. The basic features of Lentera have been successfully implemented on this application. Assessment of the application as a whole is more than 50% of respondents answered very good.

This study is conducted to address the lack of route information of public transportation in Surabaya by creating an online guide that can be accessed by passengers to get complete information on maps and travel routes for public transportation. This guide is made interactive, simple, accessible and appropriate for transportation that is adapted to the conditions in the city of Surabaya. This research will develop an Android and iOS applications that can be used on smartphones and tablets using Android and iOS operating systems. Maps and routes are obtained from the Department of Transportation of Surabaya. Maps and route are developed using OpenStreetMap, Ajax, Javascript, XML, OpenLayer, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS. The hybrid application is compiled using PhoneGap. Passengers simply point to the destination of their journey, such as the name of the street, landmarks and public places. The system will automatically choose the alternative line of bemo they should choose, including the routes to reach the destination. The information includes the connecting line of a public minibus (called bemo in Indonesian) if the route needs to be connected by more than one bemo line. The information also includes the fare to be paid. From the test results, both the Android and iOS applications can adapt to a wide range of smartphones with a variety of screen sizes, from 3.5 to 5 in. smartphones and 7 in. tablets.

Three main processes in Natural Language Processing are syntax analysis or parsing, semantic interpretation and contextual interpretation. This paper discuss about the first and the second of these processes. Parsing is the recognition of the sentence structure based on a grammar and a lexicon. Parsing can be done in either top-down or bottom-up methods, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Top-down parsers can not handle grammar with left-recursion, where bottomup parsers can not handle grammar with empty production. The best parsers combine these two

This paper presents a project of Web-based Distance Learning support system. The system has been built based on the Internet and World Wide Web facility. The system could be accessed with a web browser which is directed to a certain web server address so that students can do learning process just like in the real situation, such as student admissions, taking course materials, syllabus, assignments, students grades, class discussions through web, and doing online quizzes. Students could also join collaboration works by giving opinions, feedback and student produced paper/web which can be shared to the entire learning community. Therefore, it will build a collaborative learning environment where lectures together with students make constructive knowledge databases for entire learning community. This system has been developed based on Active Server Pages (ASP) technology from Microsoft which is embedded in a web server. Web pages reside in a web server which is connected to an SQL Database Server. Database server is used to store structured data such as lectures/students personal information, course lists, syllabus and its descriptions, announcement texts from lecturers, commentaries for discussion forum, student’s study evaluations, scores for each assignment, quizzes for each course, assignments text from lectures, assignments which are collected by students and students contribution/materials. This system has been maintained by an administrator for maintaining and developing web pages using HTML. The administrator also does ASP scripts programming to convert web pages into active server pages. Lectures and students could contribute some course materials and share their ideas through their web browser. This web-based collaborative learning system gives the students more active role in the information gathering and learning process, making the distance students feel part of a learning community, therefore increasing motivation, comprehension and interaction with other students.Nowadays, most of the information is still in printed format. To reproduce it in the electronic form, we need an efficient way to save the scanned document. For this purpose, AT & T Labs has been developing a new technology called DjVu. In this paper, we try to compare DjVu and JPG format. The goal is to decide whether DjVu is better or not. To achieve the goal, we try to scan the document and save it in DjVu and JPG format, make comparison between these two based on file size and image quality. Comparison is done for three types of document, such as b/w photo, document with text, and document in colour. The conclusion is, DjVu format is better than JPG in file size and quite good in image quality. So, DjVu have a chance to become a new standart.
