Non-linear effects of high rate soliton transmission on DWDM optical fiber communication system

The bit error rate (BER) decreasing of soliton transmission in dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) system because of non-linear effects is investigated. Non-linear effects in DWDM are brought on by the Quadratic Electro-Optic effects (Kerr Effects) and inelastic scattering. The Kerr effects included self-phase modulation, four wave mixing, and cross phase modulation. Kerr effects can cause problems in the limited number of channels and bandwidth. In this paper, we analyzed the impact of Kerr-effect on 10 Gbps soliton transmission DWDM systems which found that the value of refractive index of non-linear (n2) influences on reducing the number of input channel. The results show that soliton can increase quality of performance with Q factor more than 6. Several research with same bitrate using a length of 100 km, this paper analyzed longer distances have doubled, which is 200 km. Transmit power has a lower power value of about 35%, it is very important for issue of energy savings. In addition, the number of channels increasing up to 80 channels.

Smart Garage Implementation and Design Using Whatsapp Communication Media

WhatsApp is a social networking app that serves as a communication medium. According to the Online Audience Measurement Standards named comScore, in 2017, WhatsApp application users in Indonesia amounted to 35.8 million people. As the most popular mobile application with the most users in the country, in this research the authors chose Whatsapp as a communication medium that will be integrated into one application of Internet of Things (IoT), that is Smart Garage. Smart Garage is a combination of information technology and computing technology that is applied to a house by relying on efficiency and device automation. The results of this research shows that it is better to use mobile data networks than using the wireless networks. The maximum delay when using mobile data is 7.5 s and 7.7 s when using wireless networks. The research using WhatsApp application still rare especially in the field of IoT.

Analisis Kinerja Protokol Routing AOMDV pada VANET dengan Serangan Rushing

ABSTRAK Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) adalah salah satu jaringan mobile Ad Hoc yang memiliki mobilitas tinggi serta topologi yang berubah – ubah secara konstan dalam waktu yang singkat. Sistem broadcast yang diterapkan pada VANET ketika pembentukan arsitektur infrastruktur bisa dijadikan peluang bagi penyerang node untuk melakukan serangan terhadap routing protocol. Rushing Attack adalah sebuah serangan jaringan dimana serangan ini melakukan duplikasi secara cepat dengan transmisi yang lebih tinggi untuk mengacaukan jaringan dan mendapatkan forward akses yang lebih dibandingkan dengan node yang lain. Sasaran utama dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengukur dampak dari serangan Rushing pada protocol routing AOMDV (Adhoc on Demand Multipath Distance Vector) menggunakan software NS-2. Nilai QoS yang didapatkan pada hasil penelitian ini tidak maksimal, karena attacker mengirimkan rushed routing packets (RREQ or RREP) yang mempengaruhi routing tabel eksisting dan mengacaukan proses pengiriman paket. Kata kunci: VANET, Rushing Attack, AOMDV, NS-2 ABSTRACT Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) is kind of an Ad-Hoc mobile network that have high mobility and with changing topology constantly in a short time. The broadcast system that applied to the infrastructure architecture formation when VANET can be used as opportunities for penyerang nodes to perform attacks on the routing protocol. Rushing Attack is an attack on the network that the attacks quickly duplicating with higher transmission to disrupt the network and getting forward more access than the other node. The main target of this project is to measure how big the impact of the rushing attack on AOMDV(Adhoc on Demand Multipath Distance Vector) routing protocol using NS-2 software. On this project did not gets the maximum value for QoS because the attacker sent rushed routing packets (RREQ or RREP) that affect the routing table and disturb the delivery package. Analisis Kinerja GPSR dan AODV pada VANET dengan Skema Pengimbangan Beban Trafik

ABSTRAK Salah satu permasalahan di kota-kota besar adalah kemacetan lalu lintas yang disebabkan karena tidak mencukupinya ruas jalan, volume kendaraan yang begitu besar, persebaran kendaraan yang tidak merata dan lain-lain. Salah satu solusinya adalah para pengendara dapat menggunakan aplikasi peta digital pada smartphone-nya. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan pengimbangan beban trafik kendaraan. Pada penelitian ini akan dibahas mengenai kinerja VANET yang menggunakan protokol routing GPSR dan AODV dengan skema pengimbangan beban trafik kendaraan dengan pengaruh kepadatan node. Perancangan sistem simulasi terbagi menjadi dua subsistem yaitu subsistem mobilitas dan jaringan. Kemudian dilakukan pengimbangan beban trafik kendaraan, dan kinerja VANET akan diamati. Performansi dievaluasi dengan average end to end delay, throughput, dan packet delivery ratio. Nilai rata-rata throughput, PDR, delay untuk GPSR adalah 142.21 Kbps, 87.47 %, dan 82.83 ms. Sedangkan AODV adalah 119.81 Kbps, 86.67 %, dan 103.21 ms. Dari hasil penelitian nilai QoS performansi dari routing protocol GPSR lebih baik dari pada AODV pada VANET. Kata kunci: Vanet, Pengimbangan Beban, GPSR, AODV. ABSTRACT One of the problems in big cities is congestion. The congestion is caused by insufficient road segment, large volume of vehicles, unbalanced spread of vehicles and others. One solution is that riders can use digital map applications on their smartphones. Therefore it is necessary to balancing the traffic load of vehicles. In this research will be discussed about VANET performance using GPSR and AODV routing protocol with vehicle traffic load balancing scheme with node density influence. The design of the simulation system is divided into two subsystems namely mobility and network subsystem. Then balancing the vehicle traffic load, and VANET performance will be observed. Performance is evaluated with the average end to end delay, throughput, and packet delivery ratio. The mean value of throughput, PDR, delay for GPSR respectively 142.21 Kbps, 87.47%, and 82.83 ms. While AODV is 119.81 Kbps, 86.67%, and 103.21 ms. From the simulation results can be concluded that the performance of GPSR is better than AODV on VANET. Analisis Unjuk Kerja Perubahan Jumlah Node dan RAW Station pada IEEE 802.11ah

Rapid development of wireless network impacts the development of IEEE 802.11x standard technology. However, the existing standard technologies still can not solve the problem of capacity, coverage, and power consumption. Due to these limitations, IEEE 802.11ah standard was made. IEEE 802.11ah is a standard of Wi-Fi technology that supports wireless networking scenarios, such as ability to arrange the large number of devices, a wide range of coverage, and power consumption mechanism on a limited energy condition. Wireless network is a best-effort network in delivering package. But VoIP service on the wireless network has lower QoS value, compared to the network using cables. This paper addresses the performance analysis of 802.11ah standard against VoIP services, especially at the MAC layer. To analyze the influence of node density and performance of RAW mechanism on VoIP service, a simulation is conducted through two scenarios, which are changing the number of nodes and RAW station. The simulation is performed using network simulator NS3 version 3.23. Analysis results show with the increasing number of nodes, the value of throughput and delay increase by 60.09% and 93.43%. Then, with the increasing number of RAW station, throughput and delay value have increased by 81.54% and 43.45%. The increase stops in a constant value when the number of RAW station has exceeded the number of nodes in the network.

Analisis Throughput Dan Skalabilitas Virtualized Network Function VyOS Pada Hypervisor VMWare ESXi, XEN, DAN KVM

Virtualisasi berjalan diatas suatu hypervisor yang merupakan suatu program untuk membuat dan menjalankan virtual machine. Hypervisor mengatur sejumlah resources hardware seperti RAM, CPU, dan storage yang dimiliki hardware aslinya untuk digunakan bersama-sama dengan virtual environment. Salah satu implementasi yang dapat dimanfaatkan dengan adanya virtualisasi adalah Network Function Virtualization atau yang biasa disebut NFV. Konsep ini memanfaatkan teknik virtualisasi untuk membuat suatu Virtualized Network Function (VNF) yang memiliki fungsi sama dengan network device aslinya. Salah satu VNF yang dapat digunakan secara bebas adalah VyOS. VyOS merupakan sistem operasi jaringan berbasis open source yang memiliki fungsi seperti hardware router tradicional, firewall. VPN, proxy dan fungsi jaringan lainnya. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian performansi VyOS pada bare-metal hypervisor (XEN, VMware ESXi) dan hosted hypervisor (Kernel-based Virtual Machine atau KVM).n Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja dari ketiga hypervisor tersebut dalam menjalankan VNF dengan parameter throughput, dan parameter skalabilitas. Dari hasil pengujian dan analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa KVM memiliki performansi kecepatan tertinggi dengan besar throughput 19.29 GB/s. Sedangkan untuk parameter skalabilitas, VMware memiliki skalabilitas yang sangat baik yang ditunjukkan dengan kecilnya degradasi performansi pada throughput saat menjalankan banyak VNF daripada XEN dan KVM.

Performance evaluation Gauss-Markov mobility model in vehicular ad-hoc network with spearman correlation coefficient

Vehicular ad-hoc network (VANETs) developed based on mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), which is expected to provide communication between the vehicles and can be used for safety and entertainment applications for drivers and passengers. VANET have characteristics somewhat different from the MANET, the VANET mobile node moves faster, the number of nodes is more, topology changes very dynamically. Previous research shows that the model of mobility affecting network performance. An example of mobility model that is used to illustrate the movement of the mobile node is Gauss-Markov mobility model, which is used to illustrate changes of acceleration, velocity, and location, as well as its direction at any time. The contribution of this paper is the evaluation of the performance of Gauss-Markov mobility model on VANET, by evaluating various network performance metrics, particularly, packet delivery ratio, throughput, and delay use simulation software ns-3. This simulation was performed with the number of nodes and randomness index (a) that varies. From simulation results, there is a strong correlation between the decline in the value of Packet delivery ratio (PDR) and throughput with the addition number of MNs and also between the increase of delay and the addition number of MNs. In Gauss-Markov mobility model, the different value of alpha has no impact on PDR, Throughput, and delay.

Analisis Perbandingan Kinerja Protokol Routing DSDV dan OLSR Untuk Perubahan Kecepatan Mobilitas pada Standar IEEE 802.11ah

Dewasa ini, teknologi informasi yang praktis dan efisien sangatlah dibutuhkan. Jaringan ad hoc merupakan teknologi wireless LAN (WLAN) yang tidak membutuhkan suatu infrastruktur seperti base station pada jaringannya. Akan tetapi, teknologi wireless sering kali memiliki keterbatasan resource. Standar IEEE 802.11ah didesain untuk bekerja pada frekuensi sub – 1 GHz, jangkauan transmisinya mencapai 1 Km, konsumsi daya yang rendah, serta dapat melayani ribuan station untuk sebuah access point. Pada penelitian ini telah membandingkan protokol routing DSDV dan OLSR pada standar IEEE 802.11ah dengan menggunakan NS 3. Sedangkan parameter perbandingan yang digunakan adalah throughput, packet delivery ratio, rata – rata delay, dan konsumsi energi. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat, protokol routing OLSR memiliki kinerja yang lebih baik dibandingkan protokol routing DSDV pada skenario perubahan kecepatan. Nilai rata – rata throughput untuk OLSR adalah 28400 Bps sedangkan untuk DSDV adalah 2934 Bps. Nilai rata – rata PDR untuk OLSR adalah 14,582 % sedangkan untuk DSDV adalah 2,7 %. Nilai rata – rata delay untuk OLSR adalah 0,04453994 s sedangkan untuk DSDV adalah 0,6261986 s. Sedangkan rasio perbandingan untuk konsumsi energi antara protokol routing OLSR dan DSDV adalah 1,48 % untuk skenario perubahan kecepatan.

OLSR and AODV routing protocol performance analysis in ad hoc mobile phone network to maintain the connectivity of celluler network

The connectivity of the user equipment is one of the important thing that must be keep by the operator. To maintain this connectivity, operator should be smart to determine the network infrastructure that is low cost, easy, and fast to be implemented. To solve those connectivity problem, in this study will be designed an ad hoc mobile phone network. In an ad hoc network mobile phone which is built on a mesh client of the Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) allows a user equipment (UE) that having a poor link quality or out of eNode-B coverage will still get service from eNode-B by transmitting data packets over others UE which has better link quality using using wi-fi technology that already exist in each UE. This network is chosen because it is self-configuring, self-organizing, self-healing and does not require fixed infrastructure in implementation and does not require communication with the higher entities such as core or Radio Network Controller (RNC).
