Evaluation of the amount of chloride ion coming from the sea is very important in assessing the life expectancy of Reinforced Concrete structures. Developed in Japan, the incoming salt collector has been used to this day. Unfortunately, the incoming salt collector has had a bad reputation, which is caused by backward wind. Backward wind causes a reduction of the amount of salt collected in collector`s gauze. The collector was developed to eliminate the effect of backward wind. Simulation test in the laboratory and site measurement were performed to determine the amount of incoming salt according to the height. The performance was verified through analytic and experimental methods.

Bamboo is representing environmentally friendly building finishing materials as proven in the former researches. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the application properties of cementitious materials modified with bamboo charcoal as building finish materials. Flow test in fresh condition was conducted to assess the workability. Compressive and bending strength were measured after harding. As the thermal properties, thermal conductivity and density were measured. The properties were surpassing over them in case of using the pine charcoal in every tests. The thermal conductivity of them increased with the modified ratio. After the modified ratio 50%, the thermal conductivity decreased. Insolation and absorption performance is due to the lower density by modification of bamboo charcoal.

【It is necessary to predict the penetration of chloride ions for designing RC construction in marine environments. However, it takes a long time to obtain chloride migration coefficients. Therefore, the rapid chloride penetration test (RCPT) is generally used to shorten the test time. But there is a difference between chloride migration coefficients determined by rapid chloride penetration tests and those based on exposure in marine environments. In this study, we evaluated the effect on the chloride ion migration coefficient caused by a change in voltage and NaCl concentration. We also compared the relationship between the chloride ion migration coefficient by RCPT and that by exposure in marine environments. As a result of the experiments, we found that there is only a small change in the experimental factors based on changes in voltage and NaCl concentration and since they are so small, we can conclude that they are in the range of experimental error and test results from chloride ion migration coefficients by RCPT and exposure were very different from each other. In the exposure experiments, when the water-cement ratio was increased, the smaller fine air gaps in concrete affected the chloride ion migration coefficient.】

With environmental regulations continuously being strengthened internationally the need to control environmental pollution and environmental load is emerging in Korea. The purpose of this study is to seek methods or using waste cementitious powder as an alternative raw material for limestone through the optimization of raw material and to quantitatively analyze the resulting reduction of CO₂ emission in order to contribute to solving the issue of waste, which is the biggest issue in relation to construction and global warming. The results of the study, show that waste cementitious powder can be used as an alternative raw material for limestone at OPC level, but it was also found that mixing fine aggregate cementitious powder into waste cementitious powder significantly affected the substitution rate for limestone with waste cementitious powder and the reduction of greenhouse gas. In particular, when fine aggregate cementitious powder was used at a rate of 0~20%, the substitution rate for limestone and the reduction in the rate of greenhouse gas emission was significantly reduced. It is thought that a technique to efficiently separate and discharge the fine aggregate cementitious powder mixed in waste cementitious powder needs to be developed in the future.

There are many literatures reporting that the service life of re-bars in concrete structures is reduced in the oceanic environment due to chloride attack. To solve this problem, this study used geo-polymer as a mix material for concrete to increase its resistance to salt damage, and the external voltage method, one of the electric methods, is was applied to evaluate the likelihood of re-bars in the oceanic structure being exposed to the extreme salt environment. The items evaluated include the natural potential of re-bars and the corrosion rate. The results of the tests showed that in all of the salt environmental conditions (submerged zone, tidal zone, and crack), the tested materials were remarkably effective compared with ordinary concrete. The corrosion protective property was found not only in the evaluation of the natural potential but also in the evaluation of the corrosion rate, suggesting that the external voltage method can be used stably for geo-polymer RC structures in an extreme salt environment.

YoungDo bridge is the first suspension bridge in Busan which experienced several times repair and reinforcement after completion in 1934. The bridge is under demolition for extension and restoration work since 2011. The purpose of this research is to establish data base about modern concrete. The mix design of the concrete is like that cement : fine aggregate : coarse aggregate

This paper presents experimental modal test results such as natural frequencies and mode shapes of a scale model of floating structure. A modal testing is performed on the structure and modal parameters for the structure are extracted from the measured data. The results are compared to a finite element model and the correlation between the measured and analytical modal parameters is investigated.Key words:modal test, floating structure, natural frequency, mode shape, forced vibration

Concrete is affected by various deterioration factors, such as and chloride ions from the sea, which cause carbonation and salt attack on concrete. These deterioration phenomena cause steel corrosion in RC structures. Although a great deal of research has been carried out in this area thus far, it is difficult to know the point at which corrosion will occur to a reinforced bar. As the diffusion of deterioration factors depends on the water content in concrete, it is imperative to assess the condition of absorbed water content. A mass measuring method was applied to calculate the absorbed water diffusion coefficient, as well as non-linear finite element method(FEM) analysis. As a result, it was found that W/C and unit water content in concrete mixture affect the diffusion coefficient decision.

Simulation method based on probability was developed to evaluate the durability of reinforced concrete structures about chloride attack. The effects of the probability parameters(surface chloride ion concentration, initial combined chloride ion concentration, the depth of cover thickness of concrete, and the chloride ion diffusion coefficient), probability distribution function and it`s variation were calculated using the Monte Carlo method and Fick`s 2nd law. From the durability design method proposed in this study, the following results were obtained. 1) The effects of the distance from the coast and the chloride ion diffusion coefficient to the corrosion probability were quite high. 2) The effect of the variation of each parameters was relatively low.
