Phase Equilibria for CO2-Ethanol Mixtures by Perturbed-Chain Statistical Associating Fluid Theory

Song Po Yang; Hong Mei Wang; Dong Fu

The perturbed-chain statistical associating fluid theory (PC-SAFT) is used to correlate and predict the phase equilibria and the triple point pressure of CO2 and ethanol binary mixtures. The binary interaction parameters (kij) are regressed by fitting to the experimental data of mixtures. The vapor-liquid equilibria and liquid-liquid equilibria of the mixtures are investigated and the influence of temperature and pressure on the phase equilibria and the triple point pressures is demonstrated. Our results show that the pressure dependent kij can describe the phase equilibria of CO2- ethanol mixtures quantitatively well.

CO2 Fixation Using MEA and CaCl2 Aqueous Solutions

Feng Liu; Dong Fu

The saturated CO2 loadings in monoethanolamine (MEA) aqueous solutions at normal temperature and pressure were measured. The calcium chloride (CaCl2) aqueous solution was added into the CO2 loaded MEA aqueous solution to converse the ionic form of CO2 (CO32-) to CaCO3 precipitation. The influence of the addition of CaCl2 on the CO2 fixation was illustrated.

Experiments on the Kinetics and Solubility of CO2 in AMP-PZ Aqueous Solutions

Dong Fu; Hong Mei Wang; Lei Xia Du

The solubility and saturated loading of CO2 in piperazine (PZ) promoted 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) aqueous solution were measured at normal pressure with temperatures ranging from 293.15K to 323.15K. The temperature and the mass fraction dependences of the solubility and saturated loading of CO2 were determined. The influence of the mass fraction of PZ on the absorption rate of CO2 was illustrated.
