Robust stability of singularly perturbed systems with nonlinear uncertainties

The problem of robust stability of singularly perturbed systems with nonlinear uncertainties is considered. Via introducing a state transformation matrix and constructing the Lyapunov function, a stability bound epsiv* of the parameter epsiv is given such that the singularly perturbed systems are asymptotically stable. A sufficient condition is presented, which guarantee that the singularly perturbed systems are asymptotically stable. An example is illustrated to show how to apply the proposed results.

Noise-induced striped trajectories of Rossler systems

In this paper, the generation of striped trajectories in phase space by noise-injection is considered. With suitable amplitudes of noise, the steady-state system orbits appear in rectangular striped shape. The relationship between the shape (including the range and the number of stripes) and some parameters is discussed. The result shows that noise can also generate the striped shape effectively and simply, which is similar to the newly-discovered striped pattern generated by controlled Rossler systems.

State Observers for Nonlinear Dynamic Systems

This note considers the problem of observer design for a class of nonlinear system. A new state observer design methodology for linear time-varying systems is presented. Furthermore, we show that the same methodology can be extended to a class of nonlinear systems. Some sufficient conditions are obtained, which could guarantee the error of state estimation to converge to zero asymptotically. An example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.
