Influence of Mn+Y co-doped on the intrinsic pyroelectricproperties of Ba 0.67 Sr 0.33 TiO 3 ceramics

Mn+Y co-doped Ba<inf>0.67</inf>Sr<inf>0.33</inf>TiO<inf>3</inf> (BST) powders were fabricated by a citrate precursor method. Mn+Y:BST ceramics were prepared by conventional electronic ceramic process. The microstructure and intrinsic pyroelectric properties of the obtained Mn+Y:BST ceramics were investigated. Adopting fine Mn+Y doped BST powders derived from the citrate method was confirmed to be effective in reducing the sintering temperature required for densification. The ceramic specimens sintered at 1250–1300 °C presented relative densities of around 96%. The ceramics sintered at 1280 °C for 3 h attained superior dielectric and pyroelectric properties, giving a dielectric constant ε<inf>r</inf> = 2850, dielectric loss tan δ = 0.0137, remnant polarization P<inf>r</inf> = 7.3 µC/cm<sup>2</sup>, intrinsic pyroelectric coefficient γ<inf>int</inf> = 570 nC/cm<sup>2</sup> K, and the maximum figure of merit of detectivity F<inf>D</inf> =88.1 µPa<sup>−1/2</sup> at 1 kHz, respectively.

Effect of different annealing methods on the properties of PSTT thin films

0.95Pb(Sc<inf>0.5</inf>Ta<inf>0.5</inf>)O<inf>3</inf>-0.05PbTiO<inf>3</inf>(PSTT5) thin films were prepared on LaNiO<inf>3</inf>/SiO<inf>2</inf>/Si substrate by RF sputtering, and the films were annealed by one-step rapid thermal annealing (OSRTA) and two-steps rapid thermal annealing (TSRTA), respectively. Results show that an appropriate repeated heat treatment could improve ferroelectric and dielectric properties of PSTT5 film, P<inf>r</inf> and E<inf>c</inf> of PSTT5 thin films annealed by optimal conditions are 11.88µC/cm<sup>2</sup> and 53.71 kV/cm, respectively.
