Parametric Study on Combustion Characteristics of CNG Fuel

A parametric study was made to understand the fundamentals of combustion of CNG fuel in a constant volume chamber in the respect of swirl effect, and the numbers of spark ignition. Optical devices were applied for the visualization of the physics of combustion, and combustion pressures and exhaust emission were measured at several equivalence ratios by controlling speeds of a swirling motor. When the speed of a swirling motor was raised the combustion conditions were improved. The corresponding maximum combustion pressure and heat release rate were increased and the speed of flame propagation was getting faster. This research may contribute to improve the performance of CNG engine and reduce emissions in future.

Study on Self-Cleaning Water Purifier

This paper aims to develop a smart self cleaning water purifier emphasizing on sterilization function, convenient maintenance, safety, and thermal efficiency so that consumers can operate to sterilize whenever they wants and monitoring is made by quantity of water and checking water condition regularly. In addition, the self-diagnosis cleaning was made hot steam water penetrate into tubes, hot and cold storages of water purifier automatically. In general, cleaning and sterilization is needed once everyday since bacteria occurs in 24 hours and the steam sterilization is designed to function automatically or manually.

Key Words: PEMS(PortableEmissionMeasurement System, 이동식배출가스측정장비), NEDC(NewEuropeanDrivingCycle), ISG(Idle-StopandGo),WHTC(WorldwideHarmonizedTransientCycle)초록:차량에탑재하여운행중배출가스를측정할수있는이동식배출가스장비(PEMS)를활용한결함확인검사방법을미국은2007년부터시행하였고,유럽은2013년EURO6부터도입할계획을수립했다.따라서한국도국내의대형차배출가스관리의중요성을고려할때PEMS를활용한실도로주행특성을반영한측정방법의도입이필요한시점이다.PEM의다양한활용방안을위하여도로유형,매연저감장치및공회전제한장치그리고에어컨작동에따른배출가스평가를수행하였다.본연구는PEMS을활용한상용차결함확인검사방법을분석하여국내실정에적합한대형차결함확인검사제도시행에필요한기초자료를마련하고자한다.Abstract:Since2007,thedefectconfirmationtestforvehiclesusingPEMShasbeenenforcedinUSA.Thistestcanmeasureemissionsfromon-streetvehiclesusingadevicemountedonacar.EuropehasconfirmeditsplanforintroducingthistestfromEURO6,2013.Thus,theKoreangovernmentisalsounderpressuretoadopt this method that reflects the real-world driving conditions using PEMS, considering the emissioncontrolsfordomesticheavy-dutyvehicles.ToprovidevariousutilizationsofthePEM,thisemissiontesthasbeendevelopedinaccordancewiththetypeofdrivingroad,DPF,ISG,andairconditioner.Thisresearchaimstoprovidethefundamentalmaterialsforimplementingdefectconfirmationtestsforcommercialvehicles,which are appropriate for domestic emission control situations, after studying the defect confirmation testmethodsforheavy-dutyvehiclesusingPEMS.

Emission Characteristics of Vehicles in CVS-75 Mode Under Various Conditions of Driving Distance, Driving Pattern, and Engine Pre-Heating

: 되어 왔다 본 연구는 한국에서 운행 중인 차량에서 이산화탄소 배출가스 영향인자 특성을 파악하고자 . Abstract: Recently green house gas emission problem has been issued because CO2 emission is known to cause global warming. Hence, introduces more stringent emission and fuel economy requirements in various countries, including Korea. In this research, CO2 emission factor characteristics of in-use cars, which are the most dominant vehicle type in Korea, were studied, and129gasolinevehicles, 100diesel vehicles, and34LPGvehiclesweretestedonachassisdynamometer. Inthetests, COandCO2 emissionsaswell asfuel reductionratesweremeasured. ThetestswereconductedintheCVS-75mode, whichhas been considered for developing emission factors for regulating emissions from light-duty vehicles in Korea. Through experiments, correlations among displacement, fuel consumption efficiency, fuel type, mileage, driving pattern, and CO2 emission were investigated.
