Kinetics of phase formation in a Li2CO3-TiO2-Fe2O3 system during radiation-thermal synthesis

Kinetic changes in the concentration of source components in a Li2CO3-TiO2-Fe2O3 system during radiation-thermal (RT) synthesis are considered. The phase composition control is realized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The initial composition of reaction mixtures corresponds to the stoichiometric formula of spinel Li0.5(1 + x)Fe2.5 − 1.5xTixO4, where x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6.

Processing line for industrial radiation-thermal synthesis of doped lithium ferrite powders

The paper considers the issues of industrial production of doped lithium ferrite powders by radiation-thermal method. A technological scheme of the processing line is suggested. The radiation-thermal technological scheme enables production of powders with technical characteristics close to the required ones under relatively low temperature annealing conditions without intermediate mixing. The optimal conditions of the radiation-thermal synthesis are achieved isothermally under irradiation by the electron beam with energy of 2.5 MeV in the temperature range of 700-750 0C within- 120 min.

Solid-state synthesis of lithium-zinc ferrites by a high-energy electron beam heating

Kinetic changes in the phase composition of the Li2CO3-Fe2O3-ZnO system are investigated by the methods of x-ray phase and TG/DTG analysis. The powder mixture components were in the ratio corresponding to Li0.4Fe2.4Zn0.2O4 ferrite. The synthesis was performed by thermal heating of reagents mixture in a furnace and heating of the mixture upon exposure to high-power beam of accelerated electrons with energy of 2.4 MeV. It is demonstrated that the sequence of phase formation is independent of the heating method. The effect of synthesis is most strongly manifested in the initial stage of lithium monoferrite phase formation. The both of lithium monoferrite phase formation and the rate of diffusion interaction of intermediate phases in the stage of end-product formation increase upon exposure to the electron beam.
