A Transfer Function Generation Method for Sand Mixtures ‐Theory And First Applications

E. Imre; János Lőrincz

A transfer function—relating the grading curves and a physical property or a property function—can not be determined empirically due to the large number of the grading curves. To overcome this difficulty a double interpolation technique is suggested on the basis of a few measured data, using the grading entropy concept. In this paper the grading entropy concept is briefly presented using some mathematical theorems. The main steps of the general transfer function construction method are given and the results of the first applications to the dry density and to the soil water characteristic curve of sands are outlined.
