Some special design features of the detector part of a hadron–electron separator of the ZEUS detector (DESY, Hamburg, Germany) are described. The test results for the basic components of the analog section of the front part of the separator manufactured by Russian factories are given.

Modular silicon electromagnetic calorimeter is proposed for experiments at the UNK or other new collider and cosmic ray applications. Special calorimetric pad detectors of area 5★5 cm2, have been produced and tested as well as a prototype calorimetric module. The results of the testing are presented. The structure and design of a 10★10 cm2, 24 sensitive layer module is presented. New VLSI chips for silicon detector application are described.
