EVALUATION OF SELECTED PROPERTIES OF A SURFACE LAYERAFTER MILLING USING INSERTS WITH DIFFERENT COATINGS

The article presents a comparison of results of measurements of the geometrical structure of milled surfaces with inserts with different coatings. The study was done on a vertical milling centre. The first step was to determine the properties of milled surfaces using new inserts. For this purpose, an optical apparatus was used. The samples were then subjected to continuous treatment. Upon completion of the declared quantities of machining cycles, these surfaces were analysed. This allowed us to determine the influence of the coating of the inserts on the surface layer of milled surfaces continuously. Streszczenie: W artykule przedstawiono porównanie wyników badań pomiaru struktury geometrycznej powierzchni frezowanych z wykorzystaniem płytek o różnych powłokach. Badanie zostało wykonane na pionowym centrum frezarskim. Pierwszym etapem było określenie właściwości struktury powierzchni frezowanych z wykorzystaniem płytek nowych. Posłużyła do tego aparatura stykowa i optyczna. Próbki zostały następnie poddane obróbce ciągłej. Po wykonaniu zadeklarowanych ilości cykli obróbkowych powierzchnie te zostały poddane analizie. Pozwoliło to na określenie wpływu powłoki płytki na warstwę wierzchnią powierzchni frezowanych

Accuracy of Ducts Made with Various Processing Strategies

This article has presented the results of the analysis regarding the size and shape accuracy also selected spatial parameters of the surface of ducts that were made with the use of various processing strategies. The milling process of passage ducts was performed at a DMU-50 vertical processing center with the use of a Guhring 3309 carbide cutter with diameter of 8 mm. The cutting tests involved making seven ducts with the size of 12 × 60 × 10 mm in a semi-finished product made from aluminum alloy type 2017. The analysis of the size and shape accuracy of the made ducts was performed with the use of the ZEISS Prismo Navigator coordinate measuring machine. The analysis of the surface was conducted on a TalSurf CCI optical profilometer.

Influence of selected cutting conditions on torque and cutting force during drilling of gray cast iron

The impact of selected cutting parameters (cutting speed and cutting feed) on the torque and cutting force during drilling gray cast iron EN-GJL-250 was analyzed. The drilling operation was carried out by Allied Machnie drill series: DEM22000S-20FM, on the Hermle B300 vertical milling center. The measurement of the torque and the cutting forces during drilling was carried out by Kistler device.
