ABSTRACT The article stresses the significance of the use of renewable energy sources (RES) regarding the fact that the climate changes are a real problem and RES are a real solution. The article also shows the potential of biomass, solar energy, hydro energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy, as well as the actual state of exploitability of these RES in Serbia. There are identified barriers to RES implementation and proposed measures to overcome them. There are present strategies for improvement and an increase of exploitability of RES potential in compliance with the world policy in this regard. The aim of this article is to point out the necessity of creating an enabling environment for promoting RES and the gradual removal of barriers to stronger penetration in the energy market.

Transportation and distribution of gas inevitably results in gas losses which depend on many factors: manner and type of transport, quality of transport systems, quality of gaseous fuel, quality and adjustment of metering devices, etc. This article describes the main characteristics of natural gas and reviews the consumption and production as well as losses in transportation and distribution of natural gas for the region of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Serbia). Effects of natural gas loss reduction during transportation and distribution are analyzed from the example of one distributor after implementation of appropriate measures.

ABSTRACT In recent years, man has become more aware of the fact that today’s approach to energy saving is unsustainable. It is believed that in the near future, biomass will increasingly become of interest as one of the most promising renewable energy sources. The paper describes one example of the use of biomass (corn cob) in the process of production of thermal energy, i.e. in the process of seedcorn drying. The purpose of the investigations reported in the paper was to define the use of corn cob as a fuel to increase energy efficiency. Additionally, energy efficiency was explained through hourly consumption of corn cob in thermogens, which was further compared with consumption of conventional fuels (natural gas).

Universities and their faculties and colleges have a very complex function in society today, so it is necessary for them to establish the right balance when executing their tasks. On the other hand, economy has a need and obligation to invest in university educated personnel able to apply and develop new technological achievements. The paper presents new trends in technology and higher education of technical engineers which could be of great importance in future development of distance learning (e-learning). It also underlines the attempt of using the innovative models of work, which are presented and experimentally confirmed, to show a gradual transmission from traditional to a new view to engineering graphics teaching. Statistical analysis of the obtained results has confirmed that a distance learning model in engineering graphics teaching has a statistically relevant effect on teaching efficiency.

AbstractIn this article, the results of theoretical research of the generalized hypercube function by generalizing two known functions referring to the cube hypervolume and hypersurface and the recurrent relation between them have been presented. By introducing two degrees of freedom k and n (and the third half-edge r), we are able to develop the derivative functions for all three arguments and discuss the possibilities of their use. The symbolic evaluation, numerical experiment, and graphic presentation of the functions are realized using Mathcad Professional and Mathematica. MSC 2010: 33E30; 33E50; 33E99; 52B11.
