The aim of this paper was to summarize scientific literature on obesity in policemen through a systematic review of observational studies. For this purpose the following electronic databases were selected: Medline by Pubmed, CINAHL, and Scopus; and a manual search of the referenced studies concerning this topic was performed. There were no restrictions with respect to the year or language of the publication. Twenty-three studies were identified and 9 articles, considered as potentially relevant, were included. The labor time, shift and career progression promoted changes in body composition. Most of the policemen taking part in the studies included in this paper were overweight (BMI: 25.2–29.3), obese (body fat ≥ 25%), had increased waist (90.4–102 cm) and abdominal perimeters (18.9–90.5 cm), and had a higher risk of chronic disease, which is associated with depression and stress development. Interventional studies are needed for the purpose of proposing preventive and rehabilitation programs, which would result in providing physical and mental well-being, improvement of life quality and, especially, prevention of obesity related to police work.

The aim of this study was to analyze Brazilian Triathlon Coaches’ Leadership style. 31 coaches from Bahia, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Sergipe and São Paulo participated. Leadership Scale for Sport – LSS, was used for data collection. The data was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. Brazilians Triathlon coaches had a self-perceived leadership style based on Positive feedback (4,68 ± 0,29) and Training and Instruction (4,47± 0,37). Autocratic leadership had the weakest mean (1,80±0,59) and is not associated with others leadership styles. Training and Instruction style was correlated with Social Support (r= 0,636, p<0,001) and Positive Feedback (r= 0,428 p<0,001). Social Support correlated with Positive Feedback (r= 0,464, p<0,001) and Democratic Behaviour (r= 0,399, p<0,001). We concluded that BrazilianTriathlon Coaches use Positive Feedback as strategy, recognizing good performance in training and competition of athletes. They seem to be flexible and use different leadership styles according to the situation required. They also include athletes in decision-making situations and instruct them technically. These coaches seem to have not Autocratic Behaviour.
