Irrigation and Fertilization Management Effect on Chinese Cabbage Chemical Composition

Enikő Laczi; Emil Luca; Adelina Dumitras; Alexandra Hoaghia; Păuniţa Boancă

ABSTRACT Chinese cabbage is a leafy green with great economic potential, mostly in those areas where it has not yet been widely cultivated, but its demand is increasing, due to its high nutritional and therapeutic value. The experimental factors involved three cultivars of Chinese cabbage, different irrigation, and fertilization treatments. The main aims of the present research were to establish the influence of water and fertilization management on Chinese cabbage chemical composition in an organic cropping system and to determine relations between the organic fertilizers and cabbage leaf macroelements, essential microelements, and heavy metal concentrations. The results showed that sheep manure was richer in almost all the studied elements, including heavy metals; plants fertilized with this manure have higher levels of heavy metals; irrigation had a secondary effect on the decreasing heavy metal concentration in plants; and plants fertilized with biofertilizers showed high amounts of potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and zinc (Zn).

The Influence of Tehnological Factors on the Yield of Direclty Sown Onion Crop in Mihai Viteazu Area, Cluj County

Felicia Butuza Bumb; Emil Luca; Eniko Laczi; Paunita Boanca

Onion is one of the most profitable vegetable species, if all technological inputs within a modern technology (from the establishment of the culture to harvest) are taken into consideration. The experiment was located in Mihai Viteazu, Cluj County. In the experiment there were taken into consideration four varieties of onion: ‘RoE™ie de ArieE™â€™, ‘Brunswick’, ‘Density’ and ‘Sttutgard’. The onion it was sown directly in the field. There were analyzed: the influence of technological factors on the average weight of onion bulb and the influence of on the number of onion bulbs. The three factors in the study (irrigation, fertilization and biological material) differently influenced the onion production per unit of area. In all the experimental variants, the differences between the yeld obtained for the ‘Stuttgard’ and ‘Brunswick’ cultivars and the ‘Roșie de Arieș’ cultivar (control) are very significantly negative, and the yields of the ‘Density’ cultivar is insignificantly in comparison with the yield of the control cultivar. THE VARIABILITY OF BIOMETRIC MEASURMENTS USED TO DETERMINE THE STAND ADAPTATION OF FRAXINUS EXCELSIOR TREES AFTER AFFORESTATION OF DEGRADED LAND BY EROSION

Adela Hoble; Emil Luca; Marcel Dirja; P. Marginas

The aim of the research is to establish the improvement degree of the degraded ecotop through differences registered between expected relative class of production and biometric data determined in situ. The biometric measurements (trees height and diameter) were done on trees being over 30 years old, the afforestation of degraded land started in 1983. The results characterize the increasing gradient of variability factors through exploitation and inappropriate management. The research problem looks to establish the effect of stand conditions upon biomass accumulation at individual level of trees, knowing that on degraded lands trees could rich a biological potential included in maximum the 4 th relative class of production.

The paper presents the results of the experiments that were carried out during 2012-2014 period, in the Iara-Turda depressionary area conditions. The research`s general objective is the study of agroproductivity at Jonagold, Florina, Generos, Idared, Jonathan, Granny Smith and Golden Delicious apple varieties, all grafted on to a semi-vigourous M106 rootstock. The influence of the irrigation and fertilization regime was studied in an polifactorial experiment that aimed the study of the interactions of three factors and the specific and cumulative effects on growth and fructification parameters of the apple tree varieties in the pedoclimatic context of the studied area. The present paper refers only to the interaction and effect of the irrigation regime in relation to the studied factors.

The paper includes some results of the investigations held between 2009 - 2011 in the conditions Nicula - Gherla, Cluj county, the influence of factors of production (irrigation regime, fertilization, biological material) on the content of vitamins (B6, B9 and C ) at the celery culture. It was found that the best results, respectively a higher vitamin content was obtained in irrigated variants at a humidity threshold of 80% of active moisture interval (AMI).

Estimations of Soil-Plant-Climate Relation in the Conditions of the Transylvania Fields

Adela Hoble; Marcel Dirja; Emil Luca; Laura Luca; Tudor Salagean

Determining the relation of plant - soil - climate and determining of each parameters, means to establish and develop a rational exploitation and sustainable agriculture system, having in the end of the vegetative periods a positive ratio between inputs and outputs, without high losses. The cultivable land and production registered a significant extension in the last years, but compared with the European Union benefits from agriculture exploitations, the Romanian agriculture systems, need to be improved and develop more rational. Soil moisture is important for forecasting both temperature and precipitation. As the temperature rises the evaporation rate of soil moisture increases. The increased soil moisture evaporation helps cool the ground. The researches were performed on a cultivable land from Plaiuri Field, Cluj-Napoca County in a bi-factorial experiment. Three graduals at the A factor – irrigation regime and five graduals for B factor – variety were followed. The soil offers the most stable variables, plant needs could be estimated and stabilized, and climate offers the most important elements for a normal evolution of the plant, typically for the variety.

Studies regardind the economic efficiency of irrigation on corn yield in Transilvanian conditions. The corn is one of the plants that reacts advantageously upon irrigation. Through approached themes, the research team intended to bring a contribution in order optimize some elements of the corn culture technology, on the corn grains of four Pioneer hybrids recently introduced in culture, relating to irrigation regimen. The research was effectuated in specific conditions of the under wet hilly zone in Transylvania, and regarding a maximum economic efficiency.
